Community Admin@b_took Yeah it looks like I got some crossed wires, resetting seems to have no effect.
If anyone else encounters this if they could post the item, its quality (green, blue, orange and so on) and its acquisition location (cartel market/fleet vendor/etc) that should help.
Also I'm assuming folks encountering this are currently Preferred status, is that the case?

Two items that I can no longer use due to lack of Artifact Equipment Authorization: Advanced Green Core Hawkeye Crystal - it's a purple item that I bought on the Cartel Market, Advanced Purple Outline Hawkeye Crystal - it's a purple item that I bought on the Galactic Trade Network.
I am preferred status.
One of my items require artifact authorizations that didn't previously, the Advanced Purple Outline Indestructible Crystal that i bought from the Galactic Trade Network.
One of the patches fixed the issue for some people, but apparently not all.
Since EA wants us to report other finds that require Authorization since the update, The Blue (Now Purple) "Advanced Black-orange Striated War Hero's Crystal" that I bought from the Galactic Market is also requiring authorization now.
Any chance this will be fixed? Not happy ☹️

I see that it is being investigated, but this has severely hindered my ability to play on quite a few toons and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Some info on the progress of the investigation would be nice. As it stands now, there hasn't even been a post by the devs in the official forums which is the place most players would go to for information on this. Just a reply to a Reddit post and the reply here that it is being investigated.

I have noticed artifact equipment authorization requirements on the following items:
Several purple quality CM crystals bought from GTN, across several of my characters (for example Advanced White-Blue-Purple Hawkeye Crystal);
Fleet Modification Vendors: green quality hilts and barrels on all levels;
Fleet Equipment Vendor lvl 8: Trooper/Bounty Hunter Trainee orange set, all pieces, for both republic and imperial side.

Purple black striated color crystals I got as a reward for purchasing the prior game pack (Rise of the Hutt Cartel). They're in all my mod-able weapons on both main characters, and in order to play tonight I had to spend a ton of money to pull one out of my light saber just to play. Lost 1/4th of my "cash". I'm not spending $20 to upgrade my accounts for something I already paid for. I hope this gets fixed soon...sounds like it's been a bug for days, so I'm not sure why something so integral to the game hasn't been fixed more quickly. ☹️
Oh, and not realizing this was a bug, I bought a "random" color crystal for 100 Cartel Coins...and guess what, it's purple quality, too...so I can't use it either. I hope I will be able to once this is fixed; otherwise, I'd really like by 100 Coins back!
Various crystals across 5 characters have all been locked due to this bug. All are cartel purple crystals purchased off the GTN, with a couple of them being account-wide unlocks. The only character not having this issue has the artifact equipment unlock purchased for her. This is honestly pretty game breaking, as it cuts me down to only one real usable character out of 6, while also being pretty annoying that while being preferred status even crystals I have paid to account unlock are being held back because I don't have the proper authorization to use them.
I am a preferred status player, I've several different black-green color crystals, purple quality, all of them obtained from the vendors in the Rakghoul caves during the Rakghoul plague event. Now all of a sudden I need artifact authorization for them and the weapons on which these crystals are installed apparently don't work.
