so yeah, trying to open up SWTOR, got this error code. tried lowering my firewall and still got the code. http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/patcher2014.patchmanifest did not work either, and https:/...
Give the firewall suggestions a go here, aswell as the 'run as admin' changes...
*Double check your router firewalls also aka port forwarding.
Any further questions please feel free to come back.
*Aware that the DNS link was part of the guide, just unclear if you got that link from me or elsewhere.
guess it's gonna be a re-install by the looks of the tutorial. I just skimmed through it, have yet to delve in deeply, but it looks quite time-consuming.
I already tried to run "run as admin" stuff, and like I stated, even tried with all the firewalls down, no luck on those. Somehow I feel that this issue is related to the previous fix that I had to implement due to the updater getting stuck...
I used the basics of the tutorial and got it working without the whole workaround. It was indeed a leftover from the previous fix that was applied, and a quick download of the launcher and booting it was enough to set it streight. ^^ thanks for the help.
Could you elaborate a little? What did and didn't you do? Because I downloaded (and ran) the launcher repair twice now and it didn't fix a thing.
Im also having the same problem, in the launcher is say's : Unable to retrieve patch data (208)
I don't have admin privileges on my pc so i can't change firewall settings and getting error code 208 unable to download patch check network. Is there some way around this or any way to download the game without the launcher?
open a command prompt and ping launchpad.swtor.com see if it responds if it doesnt likely a net issue
