Game won't launch when hitting play on launcher

Are you getting any sort of error message at all?

Try to run the launcher repair utility here

You can also try a normal repair:

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner. If this is NOT present, With the new launcher after login , select the username pull down on the top right and select settings, then press repair.

Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut, select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher.

Nope no error message at all.  I hit play, I see the icon turn to the blue circle for a second or so, then back to nothing.  

Tried the launcher repair.

Tried deleting the bitraider folder for a regular repair.

Now, I took the launcher out of bitraider via launcher settings, and am redownloading the entire game hoping that will work.

Let me know how it goes.  Also while it's doing that add swtor.exe and launcher.exe to your anti-virus / firewall safe / exceptions list.  This is just in case they are blocking or deleting files.  If you have already done this, remove them then re-add them again.

Now after the full install, the game crashes with an applicatrion error saying "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).  Click OK to close the application."  Also a DirectX June 2010 Redist overwrite file box opens up.....as well as a setup for DirectX install window.  I think that was part of Bioware's idea for fixing......?

This is such a mess.....why can't a simple install just work?  I had none of these issues when I installed the first time.....

So you have tried everything here ?

Tried hitting ALT + ENTER.  Nothing.

Tried searching for 

%localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

no such file exists.  client_settings.ini doesn't exist either.

I have a  client_defaults file in C:\Program Files (x86)\SWTOR\swtor\retailclient.  When I open that, I get this....

My monitor is 1920X1080

I reverted back to the bitraider launcher version.  It got rid of the "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" and it did a verify, but still won't launch the game.  I deleted the bitraider file and let it verify.  Still nothing.

I installed the "directx_Jun2010_redist" file you mentioned.  No difference.

Also, I noticed something odd while looking through the files of the game.  The launcher file doesn't have it's graphic icon anymore.  It's showing a blank white file now.  If I copy the file to the desktop, it has the half-republic half-empire logo icon, but when it's in the swtor file, it's a white file.  Not sure if this means anything.

In the client_default file change

FullScreen=true

to

FullScreen=false

and add 

D3DFullScreen = false

save and retry

No change.  Also, after trying to play, then going back and opening the clent_defaults file, it's reverting the fullscreen back to true, and deleting the D3DFullScreen = false line entirely.

Are you able to connect that monitor by any other method but HDMI ? or even another monitor ?

Alternatively create an INF override with cru here , deselect all but 1920x1080 

This is to check the EDID isnt wrong, this game reads it for some reason
