Help with Planetary Mission

Hi,

Long story short; I'm a preferred status player in SWTOR and I've abandoned a planetary arc mission on Taris (Imperial): Quest - Friends of the Republic. The former meaning that I can't open a ticket to ask for in-game support.

If the policy is that PSP aren't given help on such issues I'd like to know if that's the case. otherwise, I'd like help with somehow resetting the quest chain or returning me to the point in the arc that I was at (this is preferable).

I've read several posts about similar issues - most of those are 2+ years old so I'm assuming this may have been fixed now. Some people in forums stated that some missions are not re-obtainable - others said all are. Apparently, getting others players to share the quest helped individuals but this can't be the way the developers intended for this issue to be resolved.

My personal experience is that I have abandoned many quests at lower levels, even with the same character, which I could then re-obtain and complete. I had no reason to suspect anything would have been different in this case. Granted the guest giver is behind an instance wall, though I don't see why this should change anything drastically.

Not being able to finish the story arc isn't game-braking but it is extremely frustrating and OCD inducing - especially since I was finding that particular sequence quite compelling.

Thanks.

    Update on my situation:

Spent around 20 minutes asking around on Taris. Thankfully, the community seemed to be really helpful and it wasn't too long before someone who had just begun the mission in the arc I was previously on - Shared it with me.

This solves my problem but not the flaw that is the design itself. Hopefully, others will have similar luck to me in finding players who can share the quest. But even better still if BW decides to change this abandon/reset system to something more forgiving 👍

Therefore, I'll mark this as a solution to my particular problem.

    P.S.

  • If it was an planetary mission, the now purpel missions, then you will not be abel to get it back.

There are two aboart dialog boxes one asking if you are sure to aboart one asking if you are sure it will not possible to get this mission back.

The problem here they look, if you don't read carefull, the same.

If it is one of the side quests you may have to aneabel the show exploration quest button on your map.

  • So you're definitely saying that there's no way to get it back? Seems really strange 🤔

I really don't see why this would be need to be the case - apart from the obvious abuse of quest rewards, but surely can't be difficult to circumvent via penalties for re-obtaining; say some credits proportional to rank or whatever.

If what you say is true; I hope BioWare rethink this in the future it seems like a really needless handicap. Although I admit if the warning message did say it wasn't re-obtainable it's mostly my fault for not reading carefully. However, as I've mentioned previously I had done this procedure before which yielded different results.

It seems to be a design decision from BW, why ask the Devs, somewhere on the forums there may be a statement from BW about this.

  • Yeah seems to be a BioWare design decisions though I'd rather call it a flaw;

Scouring the SWTOR forums for a statement from them I came across this, for anyone having similar issues.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=572866

    Specifically:

'Regrettably we are unable to grant players missions when they have been abandoned, however you MAY BE able to gain this mission by having another player share it with you in-game, so HOPEFULLY this will resolve the issue.' -Protocol Droid P4-Q1 (aka Leanne)

Somehow this makes me think that in order for them to be able to do this major code updates are required which aren't may not be profitable or worthwhile for BioWare to invest in (although I disagree).
