Ok I Added it to the DMZ restarted computer and modem/router game still doesn't load GUI it works in safe mode but not in regular mode. made sure its allowed in McAfee and Windows firewall still no go. static IP is set up still no go. any ideas? basically the only time ive GOTTEN it to work was once and that was the first time I tried it through windows firewall allowed it through there worked once then tried port forwarding over the phone through spectrum. it would load once but as soon as I close the game and try again it wouldn't load. and the solutions I tried wouldn't work anymore, like they were a one time deal I don't know why it was like that. any ideas?
I would tether that PC to a mobile phone and use its internet connection to see if the same occurs, or take that PC to someone/friend and try their home internet and see if it all works.
If it works on a different network then it is conformed the issue lays with the sagemcom router, if the issue still occurs on a different network then its the PC
Need to establish where you need to focus otherwise it is just guessing
do u have any more ideas? basically port forward, worked once, close game stopped working, allow through firewall, worked once, close game, stopped working. u have any idea why the game would stop loading after 1 successful game load?
Have you tried that computer on a different internet connection ? a friends house maybe and see if the game behaves
no I haven't and I don't have access to such things right now sorry, I hope u have some more ideas that may have worked for other people as this is the only online game I have that is experiencing the problem.
You are best to do the following, try this game on a different computer on your internet connection, and try your computer on a different internet connection.
This will determine if it is the router that is the center of causing this issue. Have you tried resetting that router back to factory defaults ?
game works fine on my other computer its just this 1 happened 2 months ago. basically the game would load the launchpad just fine then all of a sudden it stopped working. only twice I got it to work but it would never stick passed 1 try. I tried resetting router to factory defaults still no go. this game is the only one having the issue of launching.
if the game works ok on another computer it is very unlikely to be a port forward issue or related to the router
What antivirus and firewall is used on that computer ? can you provide a msinfo per this link (check to make sure no email addresses are in it before posting it)
McAfee Firewall and Antivirus and windows defender is going along with it. the one that comes preinstalled with windows 10.
also like I said before I managed to get in the game by allowing it through windows defender even when mcafee was on but that only worked once I was able to load the launchpad 1 time but after closing it and trying again it wouldn't run. the 2nd time it worked only once was when spectrum forwarded my ports ran game once closed it didn't work again.
If it was me I would uninstall Mcafee as a test and reboot the computer and see if any change, can always re-install Mcafee later
The last time I saw this behavior as previously linked was with bitdefender (an antivirus program) so Mcafee is the first thing to target as the cause.
best way to eliminate it is to uninstall it as disable doesn't always mean disabled unfortunately
The only thing i see in the msinfo which is unrelated to this issue is you are getting crash reports with devicecensus.exe , a windows update came out a few days ago KB4343909 which from what i gather fixes that issue.
regarding the device census its because I cant successfully install the latest Microsoft windows update. anyway even using the repair utility for the windows updates it still wont install that update properly so tahts why. anyway I unistalled McAfee and made sure swtor launcher / etc, Is allowed through firewall of windows defender. still it attempts to load but doesn't successfully show launcher it just shows it in taskmanager then I end that still no go I tried the launcher fixes still no go its a weird issue that I only experienced with this game in 18 years of PC gaming!
Open a command prompt as administrator and type
sfc /scannow
press enter and see if that sorts out able to do the windows update
ran the scan said some things were corrupt and was unable to fix anyway I was able to download al windows updates except that one, no big deal. but more to the point do u have any other ideas that can help that are related to SWTOR launchpad not showing up after double clicking the icon? it seems to be a problem with the game, my other games work fine. that one just bombs out with no errors, its really weird, even happens if u reinstall the game im not the first person with this issue I googled it but nobody seems to have found the problem!

If it works in Safe Mode with Networking but doesn't under a Clean Boot, it's something between those two modes that's affecting the launcher.
yes it works in safe mode with networking but in normal windows even under a clean boot the launcher does not launch!
Have you considered uninstalling the cheat engine you have installed ? the launcher will have anti cheat detection, havent checked if this is the issue yet.
In regards to sfc unable to fix the corruption, open the command prompt as administrator again and try the below command
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
that fix didn't work but tell me about the cheat engine I don't know of any I have if I do I will uninstall and see if that fixes the swtor launcher not loading!
What occurred when you ran the dism command ?
I can see it listed in the start menu in the msinfo file

the dism said the restore operation completed successfully I uninstalled the cheat engine and still no go the swtor launcher will not load!
See if using the sfc /scannow now says no issues found
it said it successfully repaired corrupt files
Hopefully that will allow the windows up date to install now

all my games work fine. except swtor. the launcher wont load even if I reinstall the game.

The launcher is based on the chromium framework and has such files like libcef.dll , it may be possible if other versions of the dll files exist it may work once and then lock onto a different version in the global path and fail but i would of expected error reports , given there are none related to swtor it is almost like something is blocking, but then we are back to needing to determine if it is the computer or the router/modem firewall etc.
In regards to windows update you can try installing it manually - the one you want should be the cumulative 3rd from the bottom on this link for x64 based systems and is likely best done in a clean boot to ensure the av etc are not interfering
I tried installing it manually it said it failed at the very end when it finished so forget that from now on don't worry about it. I just want to fix swtor! ok basically I need u guys to tell bioware to fix their broken game cause even after reinstalling the game it doesn't launch but all my other games work fine. its a bug/problem with the game itself like the launcher it works in safe mode but for whatever reason it mysteriously just stopped working 2 months ago yes u could say its my computer yes u could say a reformat could fix this mysterious bug but im going through this first to see if any of u guys know why a launcher would stop working when I didn't even tamper with it also I want u guys to know this is a gaming computer like it would run this game fine 100% when I first installed it back in 2012 it was running fine for 5+ years then this bug mysteriously keeps it from working. anyway long story short:
launcher doesn't load. it attempts to but hangs in taskmanager. I tried numerous launcher fixes it still hangs in task manager and doesn't load the GUI for the interface of the launcher. if you guys KNOW any FIX for the launcher not loading please tell me just tell me ideas regarding the launcher only not stuff like windows update please thank you!
also im using windows 10 pro if that helps. ive been using it for maybe 1 or 2 years now. but back when I was using windows 7 I never had a launcher problem!

When I tried that it didn't work for me however it would launch in safe mode with networking but the game wouldn't patch past initializing state and when I go into normal windows boot or clean boot the launcher doesn't load at all!
Still haven't managed to fix the issue, I reinstalled the game, but still the launcher does not load. It is properly configured in McAfee and Windows Defender firewall to allow connections.
But the game just hangs after double clicking the icon. There are no fixes for this?

Updated! Ok I got through a hoop. Basically I disabled my McAfee firewall and did some command prompt things I got the latest Microsoft update on august 30th. Anyway when I tried the KB4343909 it said this update is not applicable by your computer now since I got the latest update. But anyway the DXDiag came up with new errors near the bottom of the file.
Now im wondering do the windows update have anything to do with my SWTOR launcher hanging after double clicking the icon? Like it completely fails to load the interface. It loads in safe mode with networking but the game does not update there. In regular window boot the launcher hangs after double clicking. Does anyone have any more fixes or ideas for fixing the hang? I haven't found any on the internet either for the hanging fix. Just people having actual launcher bugs or game crashing after hitting play. My launcher just hangs after double clicking and ive been searching for months and haven't found a fix for it! Please help!
