Does it let you get to the server select screen? At what point does it occur and can you attach a screen shot.
Some things you can try are to reboot your modem, if your wireless try a wired connection, do a DNS flush by opening your command prompt and typing:
/ipconfig flushdns
Lastly try disabling your firewall and / or anti-virus to see if they are blocking your connection. If they are or it works what anti-virus / firewall are you using?

First I would reboot both your computer and the modem by just unplugging it for about 10 seconds or so and try again. Is this on a laptop or a desktop?

Something is blocking it. You rebooted both your computer and unplugged your modem for 10 seconds and started it back up. Try running a dns flush. Open your command prompt by pressing your windows key + R and then typing CMD.
Once the window opens type:
/ipconfig flushdns
Once that is done try closing the launcher and trying again. Also what is your anti-virus and firewall?
