    Update no. 2: Got the same connection issue yesterday even with the DNS server changes lmao. I got a VPN as suggested in a different post and now have no issues with the initial loading screen regardless of the DNS settings. I think it's clear now that this was caused by my wifi/internet provider rather than something on the game's end.

Update: I was just now able to log on after changing my IPv4 and IPv6 to the Google DNS servers. Guess time will tell if this is a temporary fix or not lol

its rare for a dns issue to be the cause for loading screen, have seen it with the login server over the years, its certainly interesting though and thanks for detailing it here
