To verify if it's a network issue grab www.pingplotter.com (free edition) and then set it to trace to www.google.com and have it graphing while you play to see what is displays.  You can then save the graph and upload it as a post here.

It's been doing that on and off for the last couple of weeks, probably due to the sheer traffic of users. I haven't known it to last more than one session (a few hours), though, so the team are probably aware of it.
