[LAUNCHER] "Unable to retrieve Patch Data (208)"

[LAUNCHER] "Unable to retrieve Patch Data. Please Check Connection (208)"

Hola Everyone! I hope all of you are alright.

I'm having, again, problems with my Launcher when each patch is up. This time I will give you the details explained with Phases of what's happening.

Phase 1: When I open my launcher it's allowing me to hit "PLAY" button, when I click it... "Your current game version does not match the server's" I close the game, open again the launcher and still allowing me to Play.

Phase 2: When I click "Repair" button in my Launcher, scans the launcher and when all its done... "Unable to retrieve Patch data. Please check Network Connection (208)".

Phase 3: I reboot my PC, re-openned the launcher and happens the same thing on Phase 1. If I click "Repair" same with Phase 2. And after a bunch of Closing and Openning the Launcher, randomly starts downloading the patch... When the patch is done, I can play the game... But, when I close the game and open it again... Two things happens:

Phase 4: Starts downloading the lowest Assets and start happening the exact thing on Phase 1 (For example, the game downloaded the Asster 265 I lose the launcher, open it again and start downloading Asset 260 and "Your current game server doesnt match with the servers.")

Phase 5: Start downloading the Main Asset 1 (Downloading again the game, but hell slower and after downloading some game stuff... 208 error)

I got this problem before, after each patch, but randomly fixes but takes FOREVER.

My actual Launcher is Non-Stream (BitRaider Disabled because started to consume 100% of my disk and my PC was useless when I open the launcher), I tried the CMD options: ping Launchpad.swtor.com (All works good, or seems like that) and ipconfig /flushdns and both options not helped my Launcher.

And I'm using Norton as Anti-Virus, and both, swtor.exe and launcher.exe are inside the Firewall list.

Thanks all and I hope you can help me out! Have a good day.

I did a quick search and found the following from here

208 is a communication error talking to either the manifest.swtor.com or the CDN-patch.swtor.com , if the issue is the CDN changing DNS server and flushing the DNS cache can sort it.

This can be local caused, but sometimes it can be a net routing issue, if on the net , sometimes rebooting the router/modem and if it changes IP address it will be gone as the issue will be tied to IP ranges.

Using a VPN like www.hotspotshield.com can also be used as a short term workaround if it is a routing issue.

Maybe also try using a wired connection instead of wireless if you are using that.  Next step would be to try to do an IP Config Release / Renew to see if that clears it up.  Also try disabling and then enabling your Ethernet / wireless card in your computer.

If your still experiencing issues, please attach a copy of your launcher logs found in the following directly:

One thing i do know with nortons is that the exceptions for launcher.exe and swtor.exe needs to be set specifically to "allow" instead of "auto" has been known to auto block on occassion.

this may not be the cause but it is worth adjusting.
