Launcher will not open

As recently as Feb 18, at 5 PM Eastern time, I had no problems logging in.  At some point starting later that day, my launcher has refused to open at all.   Attempting to open it produces the usual u...

    Update!  I ran the cleaner tool again, reinstalled the older version of Zonealarm, and the launcher is now working!   I guess something in that newest version just screws with SWTOR and persists unless completely removed.  I will contact Zonealarm about this, see if they can patch the issue or something.  In the meantime, I'll just be very cautious while using the less-recent version.  Thank you all for your help and advice!

@Curit

I gather you have double check zone alarm ? this is the most likely source of issue

but to keep testing try the below command also in a command prompt as administrator

netsh winhttp>import proxy source=ie

if that doesn't help create a new windows administrator account and see if the launcher works there

    BUMP Gang I'm getting this as well starting today. I am running Zone Alarm too on a Windows 10 64 bit machine. How do I put this line of code into the command prompt?

    That command didn't help.  Here's an update on the zonealarm situation:  the launcher would open after performing an uninstall with the cleaner tool.  Reinstalling zonealarm after that resulted in the same problem.  Then I figured it must just be an issue with the latest version.  But reinstalling the previous version resulted in the same problem cropping up again - and it worked just fine with SWTOR!  I'm really at my wit's end here.  I'll try contacting zonealarm about this issue, but I see no reason why the old version would no longer work the way it had.  I'll try the account method mentioned, investigate that as well.

      Update: a new admin account resulted in no change; the problem persists.  Would calling EA/Bioware's tech support line be recommended?

        You can try calling to see if they can assist but if not I would wait for @proxos666 to respond as he would know more on this issue then I would.  He is located in Australia so it may be a while for a response due to the time difference.
