Lost HK-51 parts after 4.0 upgrade

I spent hours collecting HK-51 parts i collected 5 of the 7 parts only to have the quest reset during the 4.0 upgrade...

i had collected parts from Tatooine, Taris, Coruscant and Dromund Kaas as well as the part obtained in the False Emperor mission.

I put in an in-game ticket regarding this only to have it closed and receive an automated response telling me

"We are sorry that you have encountered an issue with your mission, however please be advised that we currently only offer support for class story missions."

this is unacceptable and bad customer service.

The HK-51 mission chain is very long and complicated and to have all the hard work i put into finding the parts lost and wasted and then customer services basically tell me "too bad" has more than a little annoyed me.

    Sorry to say, but plenty of warning was given via upcoming patch notes with regards to this quest and others like it... it was an unavoidable aspect to applying 4.0.

    Even then its still a great story arc and well worth going through it again till completion.

  • I can sympathise , its a bugger of a quest to do , and whilst they gave a warning some missions will be reset , not everyone reads the patch notes or visits the forums, very small percentage overall.

    Your not the only person @TatsuGamer88 to have this issue I'm afraid and your very likely not be the last.

  • lol, @proxos666 that's an awful lot of words for "Diddo what he said".

    That cut scene inside the busted ship with all the frozen..... .... ... is one of my favorite "OMG Moments".

    I only, just now, realized this forum existed... and I've heard that people might actually get help on this forum.

    Here's my thoughts on this...

    1) I'm aware there is a warning... but that is not "plenty of warning" like most other people, I did not see it at all. It's a little addendum tucked into a pile of 4.0 hype. That's not adequate... and even if it were, a warning has no value if players aren't given adequate time to actually do something with the warning. The HK-51 quest is crazy draining, because you can (sometimes) search for over an hour, re-trace turf you've traced over before... and still not find a component.

    2) This exact same issue occurred after the last major patch. While we may have been warned the quest could reset... the community manager over on the SWTOR forums said he was going to take steps to ensure this never happened again.

    ...so, sure, we were warned (hardly), but we were also told this wouldn't happen again.

    3) The last time this happened, it upset enough people that steps were taken to actually fix the issue. "Sorry, won't happen again!" wasn't good enough, the heat was on, and once again, Community Manager Eric Musco came forward to say "ok... we'll fix this."

    ....so, as far as I'm concerned, I've got an Official Post saying that this is something that Customer Service Can & Will Support and then, a whole bunch of posters came into the thread to say, yes, their quest was fixed, and even, in a lot of cases, accelerated to the final stage (where the CSR couldn't determine which pieces were found).

    Honestly... certain parts of the quest are fun. Finding the pieces? No... not that is not even a tiny bit fun. I have no intention to start from scratch in tracking down those pieces... not when plenty of other players with the exact same issue have actually received CSR solutions for the exact same issue.

    Unfortunately issues like this can only be handled by an in-game ticket , this cant be handled on the forums.

    All we can do on the forums is discuss it.
