One-time Password
I recently created a new account as no matter what I did I couldn't recover my old one. Now, I take about a weeks break from the game and my new account, which I have spent money on, and I'm being as...
I tried downloading the Authentication App and Avast spammed me with messages saying that it can't trust it and it's got suspicious content.
Avast may be reading it as a false positive. I downloaded it and ran it and my Windows Defender doesn't see it as a virus. This program is mentioned throughout the main swtor forums to use if you don't have a phone. It doesn't even install just runs from the computer. Just set Avast to ignore it or add it as a trusted program to bypass it. Once that is done and you run it choose to use Google Authentication as it uses the same encryption type the official app uses.
So I used it, it accepted the code and still asked for the One Time Password.
Was this after logging into swtor.com and adding the security key to your account?
Yes.
What email addresses have you tried to send the one-time password to? I use gmail and haven't had issues before. Do you have any settings in place to automatically empty your junk / spam folder, any email addresses in the block list?
I use Hotmail and I have never had a single problem with anything e-mail related besides from the previous problem with the one time password with my last account. All e-mails, no matter what type, come through which is why my inbox has over 2000 e-mails that I constantly search through and 100+ junk files that I weekly remove if they are irrelevant like PPI messages, Dating Websites etc..
I am waiting for a verification link, so our problem seems to be similar.
Two persons suggested me to call the office, so if you're really into this, then go and grab a phone (or Skype).
If you're not going to call them, I suggest to come over it and deinstall / delete all files that relates to SWTOR,
--> i hope your problem is solved now
Try a gmail. just create a gmail account to use to receive the verification email. I'm in the same situation, I use gmail and have always received emails from swtor including the promos that had cartel coins or codes or just advertisements for xpac's. I don't know why it's not working with hotmail but I would just test with a gmail to see if it is received. As before ensure that you go to settings >> labels and make sure all labels are active in case it gets sorted into one of those.
Leave the security key attached, once you verify with a gmail account, you can switch your email back to your hotmail and then it should no longer ask for the onetime password since your using a security key.
Hey, having a similar problem. Despite having been using this laptop on and off for over a year, it still asks me. However, I'm not receiving the emails, double triple checked all locations. I called the support number, it said the line had been disconnected. I can log onto the game, just not the website, so I tried opening a ticket for help, but the button is grey and doesn't work; I have a few tickets open from reporting credit spam sellers and I tried closing them to make sense but the game just said no. I can't get a security code to help with the one time password because I need to log on, and I can't do that because I need a one time password which apparently I need a security code to bypass.
try to send the email to another email like a gmail even just create a new email to see if it can be received. If not the contact information is below to call, make sure your calling the number listed depending on the country your in. Also on tickets if you are not a subscriber you cannot create a new ticket. Any tickets you created before your sub ran out will still be there but you cannot create any more tickets unless you resubscribe.

If you are calling from a different country above or how to use skype to call for free, see the below link for contact numbers for other countries and more information on using Skype to make calls:
How can I swtich emails my account is attached to without logging on though?
I was trying to work out why my account didn't resubscribe automatically by logging on, but since I can't, I'm stuck in limbo.
I've tried the American number and it didn't work. I haven't tried Skype, but is free or a discounted rate? I don't have any Skype credit and I don't intend on getting any.
When you go to log into your account does it ask you to enter in an email or just sends it? Is there a link to change it to a different email or send to a different email.
