Pixelated Shadows during Cutscenes?

I recently updated my graphic card (NVIDIA EVGA GTX 970 SC 2.0+) drivers (now December 21st version 361.43; clean install)  as I was having a couple of odd issues (SWTOR would blink to a black screen every time I entered a visually intensive animation (ie. Carbine Blast for the Imperial Agent). After updating to the aforementioned version this issue has now been fixed and SWTOR appears to run fairly fluid. However, I'm continuing to experience microstutters and pixelated shadows during in-game conversation scenes. Is there anything to improve the jagged shadows that appear during conversations?

(Other things for consideration: every time I adjust in-game graphic settings the screen turns black and fails to re-appear unless I minimize and resume the game. Sound continues in the background. This did not happen until after I updated to the latest drivers).

SWTOR is the only game where I experience graphical issues. Black screens tend to indicate the fault lies with the graphics card. Any suggestions or ideas? Please see attached dxdiag file for any required system information.

The FPS indicator usually flickers to 55ish frames per second (yellow or red in color) when the microstutters occur. Typically is stays steady green at 60 fps.
