If you can access your account online then there is nothing wrong with the login details as they stand.
If launcher is failing then either it is a antivirus/firewall issue (or a net issue talking to launchpad.swtor.com) or that account is banned from the servers
try pinging launchpad.swtor.com and see if it responds, if it does respond login should work.
Ping works ok i get through ... so only other thing it can be is that it is banned. so that means i going to have to call them... im sure this is a ploy to make more money out of people

OK quick update--- original password chosen was too long. I had to call them, after verification it was believed that password was too long. PW changed and im in game

Glad to hear it is sorted, interesting the password is too long on the launcher....
The website is restricted to around 12 characters but the launcher is/or was able to handle longer, so most found they could log into the game but not the account on the website
