Re: Launcher error 206 "Unable to retrieve patch data"

@Daetus

The launcher is like a web browser so can be affected

Try switching DNS server to 8.8.8.8 on that system as test , note how it is set before so you can go back to those settings if you want later on.

This guide link should help test using googles DNS server , this should actually bypass Norton connect safe

    Yes! That seemed to work. Hold on whilst I restart my machine, just to make sure it wasn't luck again.

  • That works! Thanks so much for the help, it feels good to know what the problem is!

    Is there a way to do something like that without having to permanently go through the Google server, i.e. only do it when connecting through the SWTOR launcher? Or shall I keep this for now. I intend to send a request to reassess those sites to Norton ConnectSafe when I am able, so hopefully they'll end up allowing them so others don't have this problem.

    @Daetus

    For now if you want to switch to the Google DNS when you play swtor and switch back to ISP after playing sounds like a reasonable workaround.

    Least you have narrowed the cause now

    OK, that should work fine, thanks again so much for the help1

    Hopefully Norton will allow those sites eventually, then others won't have this problem.
