After troubleshooting a bit I figured out what was the hangup.
From Shadows of Revan through the KOFE launch I was using a SMAA injector to improve anti-aliasing over what was offered from the in-game settings. Well, some aspect of it was now causing the game to lockup while loading into the game world, because as soon as I removed the injector.ini and associated .dll file, the game loaded up properly.
Thanks for your responses, guys. Was quite frustrating but I'm back in game now.
