Try just updating the video driver Initially from www.amd.com
if that doesnt help , if you have another monitor to connect as a test, see if this persists with a different monitor connected.
Use CRU (Link) to create an override for the monitor resolution and set only that resolution and frequency and things should start to behave
It worked...Sort of... I can play the game now, thankfully.
I updated my drivers, because they were a week out of date, (no idea why that affected anything, but) and the black screen came back, with the audio, but once I hit ALT + Enter, it took a couple of seconds and went to windowed and I could see!
