there's quite a bit going on in the reliability panel but it doesn't detect solutions. it just says the graphics driver isn't properly installed but the AMD catalyst control center tells me everything is fine? There are no problem reports for swtor for some reason.

If you double click on the video hardware listings it should provide more details ? (not the check for solution link)
while we are there what is the details of the unsuccessful driver install ? may as well look at that as well

Given it is saying the driver isnt installed properly
try using DDU - Link and then a clean install of the driver again , if that doesn't solve it use DDU to remove and try an older driver version
DDU returns the system to vanilla install for the video driver and removes any trace of existing driver in case there is something corrupted
- Anonymous9 years ago
i've used the DDU twice now and every time AMD says everything installed fine. but when i boot up the game I get the same thing. i dont have a vanilla driver to use with graphics card so all I can do is download it off the website but the same thing keeps happening T.T

Install this directx redist - Link
in the client_setting file you copied earlier make the following changes to start with
D3DFullScreen = false
EnableSSAO = false

yeah i've already installed the directx redist but i did it again, why not. changed the client settings but the same thing happened again. ill try ddu and reinstall with the driver you linked.
- Anonymous9 years agoLovely, just got this BSOD. Now my pc is doing a chkdsk ☹️

it's stuck at 0% installation progress. bios are up to date
- proxos6669 years agoHero+
Even after using DDU ?
Try this link you can find other version if that doesnt work at this link if need
- Anonymous9 years agoOk i managed to install the driver from the previous link but swtor still crashes the graphics after a minute on the character screen. And then i got this Bsod. Maybe i should ddu the intel graphics driver as well as the radeon? Or would that destroy everything? >.>

There is no active intel video card listed in the dxdiag
but it appears this is actually a crossfire system ? as I can see 2 listings for AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series , at this point it is worth breaking crossfire and go back to a single card.
- Anonymous9 years ago
It's a single card, there's no crossfire installed. just the one 7990 plugged in.

Just to confirm your currently using 16.12.1 ? http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous/detail?os=Windows%207%20-%2064&rev=16.12.1
move to 17.4.4 http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous/detail?os=Windows%207%20-%2064&rev=17.4.4 this was the last non optional driver available for Win 7
My understanding the 7990 is actually a dual card you should be able to go into the AMD control center and disable crossfire to drop back to single GPU.
The Blue screen appearing is in the video driver it may mean there is an issue with the card or the driver but all these drivers cant be bad.

Worst case Disable crossfire this for the swtor profile in crimson control center only
Is this BSOD still only occurring under swtor ?
- proxos6669 years agoHero+
Have a read of this thread regarding crossfire under the 7990 and experiencing major issues except in this case was battlefront, and how you can retain the old control center and still update the driver.
worth a shot if all else fails
- Anonymous9 years ago
well the discourse isnt helpful. i cant find the 15.7.1 drivers he installed to bypass the crossfire garbage. the graphics card itself seems to be working fine for everything except swtor. i don't know. there doesn't seem to be a solution and i dont want to buy another graphics card just to find out it was a driver issue all along.
- proxos6669 years agoHero+
I will have a look , my thinking is for some reason this may be a crossfire issue with swtor if eevrything else is working ok.
- proxos6669 years agoHero+
- Anonymous9 years ago
the 15.7.1 updates lasted longer than any of the others. i managed to actually load up my ship but then the driver crashed again. the good news is that it just threw me a not responding for the game and didnt bsod or black screen me. and i cant seem to find the option to turn off the crossfire anywhere >.>
- proxos6669 years agoHero+
I believe it needs to be done in the game profile in and AMD Control Center, have a look in the profile for swtor
- Anonymous9 years ago
its pretty barren here, theres no profile or mentions of crossfire. i might as well update the software to 16.2.
- proxos6669 years agoHero+
Need to find a way to disable crossfire for swtor only or globally to test this actually is the cause

*doctor oggurobb voice* HAHA! it's working. I downloaded the very latest version of radeon crimson and clicked CLEAN install which must have destroyed all the bits and bobs AMD have left in my pc over the years. the new driver seems to be working ok. I also changed the TdrDelay in my registry to 8 to give the gpu more time to do its thing. not sure what did the trick but so far so good.
