  • I re installed on a new pc after years away.

    I am having issues too.

    My problem is it wont launch the game.
    I re installed after years away on a newer pc.

    I tried multiple suggestions online involving Microsoft game center, vsync, comparability mode, deleting client settings file from app data, disable fullscreen optimizations, ect.

    Nothing is working.

    It goes to a black screen after i hit play from the launcher.

    The black screen fades back to desktop like its trying to launch and run but fails.

  • Hello, Thanks for your time and reply.

    @proxos666

    I couldnt find my own topic for a while.

    I tried your suggsted link. I got to this part :

    "

    • Game flashes black screen and closes

    Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time

    Copy the following in to the text box and press ok

    %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

    Open the client_settings.ini file in notepad and ensure the following are displayed within

    Fullscreen = false
    D3DFullScreen = false
    RefreshRate = 60

    The file is missing these lines entirely Fullscreen = false D3DFullScreen = false RefreshRate = 60

    along with these lines being missing too below.

    Check NativeHeight, NativeWidth, Height and Width ( all 4 ) match your monitor resolution.

    Save and close the file.
    Start the game as normal.
    Change graphic settings within the game as desired. "

    There are no 4 lines showing native height, width ect combos.

    I tried the repair option on the launcher multiple times as well.

    Its like the file is missing half of what it should have.

    Not sure where to write the lines missing and if an order matters or what numbers i should use for the height and width

    @SneakyZapper

    try a different monitor initially and see if it launches , or change the connection method, most of teh settings do not appear until the game has launched once ok

  • Hello,

    I was able to edit the file by manually adding the lines missing and the values that were needed.

    Thanks for your help.

    Finally able to log in and walk around again.

    Been like 4 years.

  • You too.

    Appreciate the help indeed.

    Glad there is a good community still for this.

    Have a good one.
