1. Run the launcher and log in.
2. Open the task manager on your computer (shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
3. Select the Processes tab. On Windows 10, sort by image name and look for any starting with "br", they should be listed as belonging to Bitraider in the description column. In Windows 8.1, scroll down to the Background Processes and look for any Bitraider listings. Right click and end them. Don't worry if they come back.
4. Select the Services tab. In Windows 10, click on the button in the lower right corner that says Services. In 8.1, click the link at the bottom that says Open Services.
5. In the Services window, sort the list by the Name column, and look for BitRaider Mini-Support Service. Right click on it and select properties.
6. On the General tab, about halfway down, there should be a dropdown menu that says Startup type. Make sure it is set to "Automatic". Hit Apply the OK.
7. Close the Services window, the task manager, and the game launcher. Then restart the entire computer.
8. When computer has restarted, run the launcher and log in. The download process should now start properly.

To avoid this issue in the future you can remove bitraider.

NOTE this is a complete download of the game again


right mouse click on game shortcut and select open file location


open the launcher.settings file in notepad and locate the below line and edit to the below


, "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"
, "bitraider_disable": true


SAVE the changes.
Delete the BitRaider, Movie and Asset folders then start the launcher.

    @Belgorad good ideas give you guys credit. I had discovered that in the launcher.settings file today a change that no one suggested and it actually works and it will get that client downloaded cause I discovered the command that needs changing. If you look at your launcher.settings file notes there is two different download rates which is both on "0". They need to be changed from "0" to "100%". This will definitely speed up your client download and finish it a whole lot quicker. That download rate "0" is set way too low and it makes the download bottom out or drop to zero which is not good. At that rate it will take days or weeks to download. This don't eliminate the network errors you see, but it does make them show up less and bring up your KB's a whole lot. I couldn't for the life of me figure why the download rates was set so low for? There is no download I know of that the rate starts so low unless your pc isn't newer or your internet isn't all that great. But it sure helped me on getting mine downloaded in less time. And I spent about 3 0r 4 days downloading this client. If I discovered this sooner I would have had it downloaded earlier than later. Try this add on and see how well it works out for your client download and tell me what you think. good luck and have fun
