Re: SWTOR "Error code: C7 Incompatible System"

@WeilRevenga

I do not think you can , the system appears to be below the minimum game requirements

Minimum CPU is AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better

Minimum GPU is ATI X1800 or better

You have AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60

You have ATI Radeon X1250

  • Any update for this kind of error.
    I just reinstalled SWTOR since I played a while ago (more than a year).
    My system is way much higher than the requirement (Core i7, 8 core, Radeon HD 7800 4Gb graphic card.
    The last time I played this game, with this computer was a while ago, when I was running on Windows 8.1. Now on Windows 10.
    And I get that :

    error C7, incompatible system.
    Failed to initialize platform info data.

    I know that my system can handle it easily (it was with Windows 8).

    I installed DirectX9 has seen from another post.
    I run the Radeon Software to manage the graphic settings.
    I reinstalled it from scratch. Then when I saw the error I uninstalled it and then redo install from Steam. Now I don't have that "repair" option in the launcher (not even a settings button).. maybe it's a steam behavior.

    Also I'm using the free subscription *not paid"... How would I want to pay for it if I see that it's not even running anymore.

    I attached DxDiag, MSInfo and Crash dump showing: "PlatformInfo Errors:Unable to initialize platform object."

    @martinmedia

    try a clean install of the video driver

    the dxdiag under the video card lists , whilst that is disabled swtor will not work

    D3D Status: Disabled
  • I don't know why the report shows D3D Statut: Disabled.
    I already uninstalled my AMD Radeon driver and reinstalled (with reboot between).

    However, when I run DxDiag, the graphic interface says "D3D Acceleration: Enabled" (see attached screenshot -- in french)
    It is from DxDiag for DirectX version 12.
    I also attached the report from dxdiag.
    The other report was from the launcherDiag.exe found in the swtor folder. I don't know what this exe is running for the system diagnostic but it seems wrong ?

    @martinmedia

    is this the video driver your using ? https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-7000m-series/amd-radeon-hd-7850m

    the dxdiag has crash for swtor in a windows dll file

    ensure there are no game overlays getting inserted with swtor for now

    also in the game folder is a log folder can you attach the latest launcher log

    and also if you go to

    Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time

    Copy the following in to the text box and press ok

    %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

    Open the client_settings.ini file in notepad and save it and attach or paste it here as well

  • I'm using the driver provided automatically through the AMD Radeon Software.

    I noticed that there is a desktop overlay with this application, so I killed it from the Task manager process tab.
    That didn't resolve the issue though.

    I think I will get rid of that AMD Radeon software and just install the right driver myself.

    This path %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings is not available on my system (probably because my install is from steam)
    I have this path though: C:\Users\mnade\AppData\Local\SWTOR\CrashDump\swtor  -- this is the only folder. and contains a crash dump file (attached)
    I also attached the log file.
