Re: Unable to retrieve patch data. Check network connection (208).

208 is a communication error talking to either launchpad, manifest or cdn-patch.swtor.com there are laucnher logs in a log folder that can indicate what it has issues with to start working out why.

most common issues are antivirus and firewall blocks or a routing issue s a cause of unable to to talk to those locations

Ensure your antivirus and firewall has an exception for launcher.exe at minimum.

other common setting issues below 

ESET - disable "protocol filtering"
Kaperskey - disable "scan secure/encrypted connections"
Norton (Firewall) - set exceptions to "Allow" not "Auto"

    Since I have Kaspersky I disabled scan secure/encrypted connections and nothing changed. I even tried turning off Kaspersky completely and still had no luck. I read the log file and it looks to be something with the manifest.

    Clicking the link downloads the file. I did some testing of my own, I went to my school and got onto my school wifi's network and I was able to log into SWTOR just fine. I've also noticed it's not just swtor that's getting this issue. I can't sign into Uplay or install games from Steam.

    Nothing on the firewall of your modem for example ?

    usually if the web browser can get that file then the launcher should too, would of thought it was something on the system but if a separate wifi connection it all works then guess it is either the modem/router or ISP is blocking somehow ??

    Yeah I'm thinking it may be a ISP or modem thing at this point. I'm going to do some more troubleshooting.

    Got an update. Issue has seemed to have fixed itself which blows my mind cause I literally did nothing for two weeks. I noticed I was able to update my steam games last night and I just tried swtor and u play again and it works. I have no clue what happened, I did a factory reset of my router two weeks ago and that did nothing so idk. 

    Thanks for helping me with this issue.
