Returned to SWTOR, constant lag issues

Haven't played SWTOR for 6+ months. Same system as previously used with SWTOR.

Ran launcher, updated game (took a good 12 hours), recovered my password etc.

Hopped into game on a new character, played for a couple minutes when my lag spiked. First couple times the connection re-established after a few seconds and I continued to play.

Now, I can barely be in game for 5 seconds before my lag spikes and the game becomes unplayable. Don't have any issues with the launcher or getting into the game, issue only seems to occur once I'm in game. Once or twice the loading screen has stayed up for 10-20 seconds longer than usual but it always gets through.

Have deleted diskcachearena. Have opened ports. It doesn't seem to be my internet connection as I can play SWTOR fine on my other computer. Not sure what else to try.

Thanks in advance.

I gather you grab the drivers from here

It is hard to know what the cause is, it could even be a driver issue, trying a different adapter is the only way to narrow it down to the adapter itself.

Edit - have to go out for a few hours

Give me 10 minutes, gonna try another wireless channel and a clean install.

On another note, did a PingPlot direct to my router and that's just reinforced the fact.

Have changed wireless channel, have swapped from 5GhZ to 2.4 and have done a clean install of drivers. Still seem to be having this issue with ping between computer and router.

Adapter is a D-Link AC1200. Brand new all of 3 months ago, think that is the problem?

I'm reluctant to say I fixed the issue but I have made some headway. Previously I had my mouter (modem/router) plugged into the phone socket in the bedroom.

Ran some speedtests at that location and then relocated mouter to the kitchen. Ran a few more tests and noticed an instant 20% increase in speed as well as a much more stable connection. I still experience a few spikes here and there but substantially less noticeable and less severe. More in keeping with a standard wireless network.

Ran pingplotter for the SWTOR server and while still not ideal it seemed a lot better.

Hopped ingame and game works just fine. Still a few lag spikes while playing but nothing that makes the game unplayable.

Would still benefit from a direct IP connection to mouter but for now I'm pretty happy with the result.

Thanks for all the help man.
