Shae Vizla's Battle-Scarred Armor: Dyes not functioning.

I bought Shae Vizla's Battle-Scarred Armor, and it has a dye slot but when I use the Black and Deep Red dye module it does nothing. I have the module slotted in its proper spot, but no colors change. Even in the preview, colors do not change.
Is this intended? If so, can the dye slot be removed as this is very misleading.
