Star Wars: TOR account inaccessible. Deleted Email Account in play.

I have a complicated problem that needs solving on EA''s  end.  (Salient Info redacted on a public forum)

I am unable to log into my Star Wars: The Old Republic account registered to username: SWTOR LOGIN and the email SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS.

I betatested The Old Republic, and I originally bought the game when it launched in order to keep the character names I got during the beta.  I lost most of those names during a long period not playing the Old Republic to others who wanted them.

I do not remember the name of the server I was on.  It's likely I had characters on more than one server.

I am unable to reset the password or authenticator for the SWTOR LOGIN / SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account.  I no longer have access to the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS email account.  That was a Mail.com account, and they no longer offer that domain name.  The account has since become defunct and was deleted by the people at mail.com.  It is gone.

I do have Star Wars the Old Republic in my Steam Library, as I played it on PC.  I have logged in successfully in the past using the now defunct authenticator app that has since been removed from the Google Store.

My last played in Steam says today.  But I was unable to play it.  I was unable to log in without an authenticator key.  Before that, the last time I played with The Old Republic was in 2023.
In 2023, I purchased several in game items from the marketplace/bazaar or whatever it's currently called with in-game currency.

I may have an EA account, but when I try to use the SWTOR LOGIN and password that works in The Old Republic's launcher in the EA app, it tells me the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS password does not match, or has expired.  I cannot reset that password for the EA app, because that associated email address is defunct and inaccessable.

The password I tried to use for the SWTOR LOGIN / SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account in the SWTOR launcher works, but still needs an authenticator.  I cannot reset that authenticator as I have no access to the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS email account.  It is defunct.

I had a full legal name change in 2011, right about the time I got SWTOR.  So I'm not sure which name might be on the account, but would provide both to anyone at EA that could help.

My current email address is CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS.

I do have an EA account for CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS under the name CURRENT EA ACCOUNT NAME with a display name of DISPLAY NAME.  The games in that account's library are Dragon Age II, Dragon Age inquisition, Dragon Age Origins, Jade Empire Special Edition, and Mass Effect (2007)
The only game I can confirm is associated with my SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account is Star Wars: The Old Republic.

I do have EA games in my Steam Account.  The name on my Steam Account is STEAM ACCOUNT NAME.  In that account I have Dragon Age Origins - Ultimate Edition, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Mass Effect Andromeda: Deluxe Edition, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Star Wars: Squadrons, and Star Wars The Old Republic.  It is likely I associated my old SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account with my Steam account.

I had an authenticator code set up for The Old Republic, and used the SWTOR authenticator app on my android phone to log in.  That authenticator app is no longer available on the Google Store.  I cannot set up an authenticator with the Google Authenticator App because the SWTOR site wants the authenticator code for me to log into my account there.

Given that I cannot confirm what other games may be on my SWTOR LOGIN NAME - SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account, I don't know what I'd try to launch in order to reclaim the account myself.  Every option routes me back to needing to log back into an email address that no longer exists, and is therefore unavailable.

Among the verification questions I was asked where I apparently got an answer wrong in the last support chat session, there was

1.  Can you tell me a purchase you made on your account in the last 12 months?

-I honestly don't know?  I've been unemployed for the last 2.5 years, so I wouldn't have had money to spend on things like games.  If my steam purchases count
I bought Mass Effect: Andromeda - Deluxe Edition on May 3 2024
I  bought Star Wars Squadrons on December 30 2023

2.  Can you let me know any Linked Platform and Name/ ID on your account (for example, Xbox, PlayStation, Epic, Steam, Nintendo, Prime gaming, Twitch, Facebook, Discord, Apple, Google)?

My steam account is likely linked to the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS EA account that my SWTOR is on, since SWTOR is in my Steam library.  The name I see on my profile page in Steam is STEAM ACCOUNT NAME.  Beneath that is my name REAL NAME AND LOCATION.

3- Can you provide any details on your account such as date of birth, last 4 digits of your credit card, billing address, or phone number?

I've moved several times since I purchased Star Wars: The Old Republic, and not being able to log in, I couldn't tell you the billing address or the CC number that was on that account.  The phone number should be PHONE NUMBER I'VE HAD SINCE 2008.  And the birthdate should be BIRTH DATE.

4.  Do you remember what email address was used to create your account?

The email address used to create the account for my Star Wars: The Old Republic Account was SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS

5.  Do you have a secondary email address on the account, and if so, can you provide this?

The only two email addresses I would have used with my SWTOR account would be CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS and SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS.

6- Can you tell me if you have an EA Play/ Pro subscription either direct or from a third party also can you confirm when you purchased it - and if it's an annual or monthly subscription?

I do not have a paid EA subscription, monthly or annually.  I have the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account that might be associated with my Steam account.  And I have the CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS account, with the games noted above associated with it.

7.  Can you tell me when you last logged into your EA Account? (month and year)

I logged into my CURRENT EMAIL ACCOUNT EA account today.

I last attempted to log into SWTOR with the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS address though steam today.  Before today, I believe the last login date for The Old Republic in Steam and therefore my SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS account said March 2023.  But I can't confirm that because steam lists my last attempt as today now.  Given that the last time I played SWTOR was 3 years ago, you understand why my memory may not be clear on that point.

8.  Can you provide an invoice or proof of purchase?  you can check the given link to see the required proof of purchase we need.

I cannot.  Given that it was an online purchase made initially from the SWTOR.com website, I would have been emailed a receipt.  But that email was contained in the SWTOR ACCOUNT ADDRESS address in a folder I used for gaming.  And that email address and all the mails in it were deleted by mail.com when the MAIL.COM DOMAIN domain became defunct.  And though SWTOR appears in my steam library, it does not appear in my purchase history there as I didn't purchase it on steam.

So.  To sum up.

-- I need to change the email address on my SWTOR account to my current email address.  Or associate that SWTOR account with the EA account linked to my current email address.

-- I need a process that is sufficient to the issue.  Not one that asks for information that is either 15 years old, or was stored in a now deleted email account whose particulars are not available to me.

-- I'd be willing to work privately with any EA with authorization to make this happen so I don't lose an account I bought at launch when SWTOR actually cost money to buy.  I betatested this game, and bought it on launch day from the actual site for the game so I could keep the character names I had in Beta.

-- I suggest challenge questions wherein I could provide other information besides a proof of purchase, last 4 digits of my CC, Date of Purchase, things I might have bought from EA in the last 12 months with that account.  My actual name, maybe a scan of my state ID with dangerous information redacted, Screenshots of the game in my Steam account.  The current challenge questions have not worked or been incorrectly answered.  Likely due to lack of information I was keeping in the email account that was deleted.  I've tried on two separate support cases.

What I can provide, I will make happen.  But I need someone to work with me here.  Mail.com deleting my account's address was out of my control.  Removing the SWTOR authenticator from the Google Store was out of my control.  I'm really hoping I'm not going to lose the time and monetary resources I spent on SWTOR only to lose them to bureaucratic inadequacy.

  • First thing EA support via chat etc cannot assist with your swtor account

To update the email address and remove the authenticator on the swtor account you will need to call swtor support when the lines are open

Note: this type of update is possible only once per account lifetime
