Stuck On Loading Screen
I played SWTOR Friday morning (11/01/2024), but the game got stuck on the loading screen when I went to play Friday afternoon. A couple of times the game went to the server selection screen, but I go...
Well, I have been reading the forums on swtor.com. One person said they contacted customer service and the customer service rep said they have had malicious attacks on their "services". I have played WoW and they have been maliciously attacked on occasion. These attacks are happening around the country.
I have changed my WiFi internet from 2.4GHz to 5GHz. I plugged in a Ethernet cable to see if I could play the game, but I still have connections issues. People are playing other online role-playing games without any problems. But if they play SWTOR, they have problems.
Here's the thing, if I didn't have problems playing the game Friday morning (11/01/2024) then why would I have problems hours later? I have everything installed to play the game. I have done all that I can to get the game to play. The problem is not on my end. Sometimes I get past the loading screen to see the servers, but I get "A connection error has occurred" seconds after the servers attempt to connect. (Star Forge, Shae Vizla, and Satele Shan) The problem is on Broadsword's end.
I have emailed swtor support and got 2 replies from them. They had me attach dxdiag report, Microsoft System Information Summery, a developer.log file and my SWTOR account names in a reply email message. They are going to investigate the problem further.
The recent attacks relate to the login server so people cant login on the launcher so there are a few recent posts of unable to login, you can login ok though
Can you tether that computer to a mobile and try using the mobile gsm network to be sure its not an issue with that ISP
It is possible of a net issue but at present i dont see any other posts recently that has the same issue as you with the loading screen
so not sure who are the people you are referring too ?
Edit : getting to the server select page and unable to select a server can also be a sign of a banned swtor account due to chargebacks on steam, although initial loading screen should be fine to server select screen
I subscribed 10/21/2024 from swtor dot com.
I haven't purchased a subscription from Steam. I haven't had to dispute a transaction subscribing to the game.
If I get to the server select screen, I am able to select the servers that I play on and see how many characters I have on each server. I clicked on each server to login to the server, I wait 15-20 seconds, then I get a connection error.
I have pressed the print screen to take a screenshot of the "connection errors", but I don't know where they go to or if the screenshot succeeded. I don't have swtor in the documents folder where the screenshots go.
