Stuttering, intermittent freezing, lag/latency spikes

Hello,

I posted this topic on the SWTOR Bug Reports Forums, here is the link.

Upon a suggestion, I took snippits of the pingplotter's graphs.  10 snips over 30 minutes, at 5 minute segments.  Then copied the images to a Microsoft Word Doc.

Here's the original thread:

https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=986780

Just to recap, gameplay is stuttered, occasionally freezes, ability activation is delayed either entirely or for anywhere between 1-3 seconds, same with channeling/casting.
And then latency meter either spikes before, during, and/or after gameplay freezes/stutters.

Any help is appreciated.

  • Long story short, it was a coaxial tertiary coaxial cable outbound from a splitter on the outside of my house.

It prior to the Tuesday of 11/24, the cable in question wasn't plugged in.  After painting with my family, the splitter and cables were reconnected, and that's when the spikes started happening.

I asked my dad if he did anything different putting them back together, he said he came across one of the separate from the others that was originally disconnected.

I went through one by one till I found one that could disconnect that didn't affect any other systems in the house.

Low and behold!  My latency spiking issue was gone.

It's a curious thing though for a coaxial leaving a splitter to cause lag spikes.  I've never heard of such an issue.

Thank you for your help as well.

Ask your ISP to test your link, pingplots suggest there may be an issue

if this is a cable connection there maybe rust on the tap

  • With my internet all good. Speed and ping is fine but problem still is.
