SWTOR - The login service is currently unavailable???

Now, ( Monday, 10 April 2:55 AM Central Time The swtor game launcher give me an error The login service is currently unavailable".  There was supposed to be a game update TOMORROW, but nothing about the servers going down today.

Any News?

    I got it going again by running the launcher repair utility, the link to which I found in this forum under another post.

    see Launcher Closes Immediately

    and [GUIDE] Launcher Troubleshooting  especially section "II. Launcher Cannot Patch Itself"

    Note the download is a new set of files that go into your root game folder and replaces your old ones.

    This can be for a number of reasons, remove and re-add antivirus and firewall exceptions first for launcher.exe , swtor.exe and brwc.exe 

    If you know how to do a ping see if you can ping launchpad.swtor.com , if it responds , then the launcher should also be responding.

    I just tried from Australia and it is working ok

    A ping responds with no problems, but it still brings up an error screen saying the login service is not avilable.

    Game was logging in fine an hour ago.

    @AstraHawk2

    Give the router/modem and the PC a reboot for good measure, in the game folder is a log folder , can you attach the latest log it may provide a clue to what is occurring

    If the Ping responds then it would suggest something local is blocking
