SWTOR buggy/jerky camera

Hi, I have a problem. I used to play swtor a LOT, but not so much anymore since I’m not subbed. But now my little brother has a computer that he can play on, It’s so I’ve been trying to play SWTOR with him.

The computor he’s using is by no means a gaming PC. It wouldn’t even turn on a few months ago, but it recently got restored (don’t ask me how) and it now has windows 10

The game runs moderately, but the one main issue is the way the camera moves. It’s all jerky when you rotate it’s up, down, left, and right. It’s really frustrating trying to play. I know it isn’t FPS lag, because everything else is smooth, like running and using emotes and such. So question is, can this be fixed??

    SImple things is

Place shadows on low, and lower the scale for shadow map resolution

turn off vsynch in fullscreen mode and / or try playing in fullscreen window mode see if any difference

ensure windows power options is set to high performance

  • I had to turn off shadows completely for the camera stutter to go away.  But even with everything on high/very high, I was running 60 FPS.  So know it's not my rig that's the problem.  Your engine has issues it would seem.  That's unfortunate.  It's starting to show it's age.

if your running nvidia , go into the nvidia control panel and set vsynch to "fast" instead of "on" i gather if your running 60fps that you are using vsync , if you read the tooltip it does say "on" can cause stutter
