try a repair scan per this guide

I tried that but it didn't fix my problem. Do you know anything else that might fix it? I wasn't experiencing this issue before, so I believe it might be something with the most recent patch, but i'm unsure.

Doubt is patch related as you are the only one reporting at present
can you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor and delete just the file called discachearena then start the launcher and login.
if it persists after can you provide a dxdiag per this link

Removing the file resulted in me not being able to play the game, i got to the loading menu after you log in and click "play", but it froze on the loading menu. So here is the DxDiag.
