SWTOR launcher closes after clicking play.

Hello there.

Me and my friend have been trying absolutely everything to get his SWTOR working. What happens is, when he launches swtor, everything goes well, then he clicks play and it simply closes. There is no loading circle, there is no black screen. It's just as if it closes launcher and nothing happens. We have tried everything, the launcherutilityrepair fix, the bitraider fix, administrator privileges, firewall. None of it has helped, it didn't do anything to change the situation. We desperately need help. He's on Windows 8. Yes, we tried downloading Direct x9.0c, it simply wouldn't install for him.

    None of the steps worked. The directx won't install on his computer for some reason. The Clean Boot made it worse since now it's stuck at 100% and the mini stub loader doesn't launch even when we try to force it from services. The situation got worse since now we can't even access the play button due to 100%.

    You will need to keep the bitraider mini support service stub loader enabled - see this link

    From the original link it mentions the below

    If that doesn't help you can try a Clean Boot. 
    If that works re-enable one thing at a time to find the conflict. 
    (If using the Streaming Launcher (Bitraider) you will need to leave the Bitraider Stub Loader Service running on the clean boot or the launcher will stop at 100% and not allow play to be pressed ).

    We got the 100% problem fixed but the same old problem of the game not launching at all is still here. Nothing has changed. Still pressing play closes launcher and does nothing.

    @Zygmanta

    Just to confirm when trying to install directx that this link is the redist you are trying to install , the web installer wont work for example

    We got it installed but still the same problem.

    got a simmulair problem, when clicking play got  asec a picture and evrything turns black after that, accept the music

    Hi folks, could you provide a DxDiag? That file contains information on the system but also error reports. That may give useful information to understand what is happening.

    It will likely be your Anchor Window settings folks in your Client_Settings.cfg file in your %appdata/local/swtor% 

    WindowX = 0
    WindowY = 0

    likely to have %appdata/local/swtor% set as 'Read Only" too ... that will want to be changed.
