SWTOR Launcher Issues

Hi, I'm not sure where to actualy post this, but feel free to move this post to the proper place.

I've been trying to download the game from the offical SWTOR site and it downloads the launcher .exe file no problem, but when I click the icon in my downloads folder to install the launcher, it brings up the install wizard with a loading bar untill the bar gets to about 60% then it automaticly closes. After that nothing happens at all. I have tried looking up different troubleshoting guides that range from trying to install it via discs, (which I cant do cause my disc drive doesnt work) I have also tried to change its rules in my firewall, again it didnt help.I have also tried to run it as admin but no luck there either. I'm not a subscriber yet as Idont wanna pay for a sub for a game I cant even download let alone play but as soon as I am able to download and log on, I will set up a subscription. I have also played it on this computer before with no problem, back when I was on Windows 7.

If anyone has any methods that can work I would be greatful fro them. I'll add my computer specs below.

Windows 10 Home

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630qm CPU @ 2.00GHz

Instaled Memory (Ram) 8.00 GB

System Type:64-bit Opetating System, x64 based procesor

Create a game folder where you want the game installed then place this repair utility into that folder and extract the files into it.

Then create a desktop shortcut for launcher.exe and you should be good from there

There is a guide about how to install the game on Windows 10 found here if you haven't reviewed it already. It has a lot of different things to check and do to install it.

Based on your issue try moving the program out of the downloads folder and onto your desktop directly and run it from there. Make sure you right click it and choose run as administrator. Also you can try to disable your anti-virus in case it is blocking the file.

These and other steps are also listed in the guide I linked above.

Thanks for replying, I have tried the guide that you linked, and It didn't work, a launcher icon doesnt even appear on my deskktop at all. I have also tried the method of moving the .exe file to the desktop and ran it as an admin, again nothing, sam ewith disabling my firewall. If you have any other methods to fix this, I would be welcome to

hear them.
