SWTOR Launcher not Opening
This started 3 days ago (before that, had no issues, had not done anything). So I double click my desktop icon to launch the game, the permission box appears and I say yes (as usual), after this... nothing. In processes something runs for maybe a second, hard to see what as it is too fast before it closes again. Essentially, the launcher just never opens. I went through the guide on the site, for launcher issues, plus some other forum posts. It seems, if I delete the "launcher .exe" and "patcherversion" files, then run the launcher setup, then run the "launcherrepairutilityP1.8.2" , the launcher will finally open, I can sign in and play. However, I have had to do this every time to play the game, for the past 3 days. Any help would be appreciated, as this is a very inconvenient way to play a game.
Hey @8554668. Ouch, that sounds like a painful few days! I think you may have actually undone some of your hard work when you ran through those later troubleshooting steps - perhaps because there are a few bits in between deleting the launcher.exe application and running the launcher repair. What posts were you using for reference, out of curiosity? With tech stuff, it's generally best to take older posts (pre-2015/2016 at any rate) with a pinch of salt when it comes to SWTOR - the launcher uses a different method to download patches.
Start by running through the launcher troubleshooting guide (here) - the steps there will fix about 95% of all problems with the installation, if followed in order. If they don't work, you may want to call the tech support team (contact information can be found here) and see what they can do to help. You've been through enough!Good luck,
