SWTOR Validate Email Issue

Hi, sorry for yet another variation on the most common problem everyone always seems to get.

I haven't specifically found a topic based on the particular issue I'm actually getting, so here I go.

First of all, I've been a subscriber to SWTOR for quite a long time, years even, my subscription elapsing roughly a month ago while I took a small break from the game. Now, I wanted to login to my account on swtor.com, with the usual process, my display name and password. I expected that perhaps i'd get a one time code, due to my recent change of router. And... no. Instead, what I actually got was a VALIDATE EMAIL error.

Now, I've had issues with email problems before, but this one really sucks. My email was validated a long time ago, and I'm confused as to why it needs doing again. Nevertheless, i decided to go through the process of Validating my email. I type in the email associated with my swtor account, considering I have copies of my monthly reward grants in my inbox, this is definitely the correct email. Everything goes through fine, I receive the email, and click on the validation link. Great.

I get to the screen where I have to Create A Password. You would think that should be fine, but no. I get this error: Unable to verify activation code, click here to request a new one. I try several times, I even attempted a different email - which didn't work for obvious reasons.

Now I'm getting a little irritated.

So, I check everything. I login to my EA account, which has NO games associated with it. Not even SWTOR - even though the billing info indicates it attempted to auto-renew in November, as it should have done. Ok, so I recheck the validation process, which says it will attempt to create an EA account/update one when I get to the Create A Password screen again. Ok, so maybe my EA account is the problem. So I change the email associated with it to a brand new one, created just a moment ago. I verify that and voila, new email for my EA/Origin. I assumed it would create an EA account with the SWTOR email address.

Now I attempt the Verification process again, and... same problem.

I am now seriously confused. Now, I've always had the issue with my SWTOR Account where I could not change my email address in Basic Information, period. I've never been able to since the original creation. So I can't use any other email for my SWTOR account. Neither did altering my EA/Origin account email address fix the issue.

So now I'm out of ideas. I don't even want to consider calling support until I've exhausted all my options.

Help me Revan, you're my only hope... etc.

By default the EA account and Swtor account are not linked and changing the email for one does not affect the other.

In regards to the validation error, I recommend logging into Swtor.com and them changing yory email address on that site to the brand new email address you created.  Just to be on the safe side, create a brand new email again, one that hasn't been used before on either EA or swtor.com and chnage your email on swtor.com to that email and send the validation email there.

Next try to click on the validation email and see if it validates.  If it does, log back into swtor.com and chnage your rmsjl address back.

To avoid having to always validate your email when the orevipre vakidvalid expires, add a security key to your account.  It will ask for the randomly genersteg code instead of an email validation via a one time password.  The following article here shows how to add the security key.

Yeah, I can't login to my swtor account. That's the issue. It gives me the Validate Error after I enter the One Time Password.

The validation email doesn't work when I receive it either. So I can't change my email for it, because I can't even get access to it.

Not that it even works anyway, I've never been able to change my account email on swtor.com since the very beginning, a few years back. My account should already be verified, because I've been a subscriber for a long time as well, my email was already validated.

It has to be a problem on their side of things, because I've been playing for a long time, and never had to validate my email past the very first time I did it.

Verifying your account occus periodically such as if your IP address changes or you clear cookies and cache.  UnfirUnfortun if it's not verifying and you are unale to change the email on your swtor.com account, verify that the email for your EA account is not the same email your validation email is going to for swtor.com.

If your EA email is the same for swtor.com, change that email on your EA account to a new email you've never used before on EA and it may change your swtor email since it could possibly be linked.

If that doesn't work and when you resend the validation email it still goes to your old email address then the only other option would be to call customer service and haeh them manually chnagc the email your account is associated to.

This would be the only other way unfortunately to change your email address.  Their contact info and hours of operation are found here.

If cost is an issue you can use a VoIP program like Skype, set the country to the language of the support you want to call, and call the country's number from the list on the above link.
