Your account has been sent to studio for fixing ( there is no timeframe ) they should email when it is fixed
to subscribe for now, if you install the game via steam and login and play on a character to be sure the accounts are linked , you can then subscribe via steam whilst this gets sorted

I've tried changing passwords and Incognito tabs
Cleared web browser's cache, cookies, and history
Nothing helped

You need to reset the password on the linked EA account that account has the persona ootocz (not J00manchew that your posting on now ) that EA account uses a hotmail email and is different to what is on your swtor account
use the following link to reset the password https://signin.ea.com/p/web2/resetPassword then login on that EA account to fix the swtor account for purchasing
for future purchases, use incognito mode on chrome initially if you purchase on swtor.com to be sure browser cache and cookies is cleared

For your issue you will need to call swtor support when the lines open , the linked EA account is disabled with data wiped so they can restore that for you

Right, so i posted in here 3 weeks ago and still have no answers for anything. I've contacted support through the phone twice and talked to at least 5 different reps and no one has been able to tell what the problem with my account is, much less how to fix it. Everyone just refers you to the next thing. Extremely frustrating as this feels like a massive waste of time, as well as money.

it was swtor support you called ? not ea support they are different (just to be sure) i doubt ea support will know how to fix the issue
hmm i will check with swtor support on why this wasnt resolved , will get a response in about 8 - 9 hrs when they are online for the day
edit - the issue is the linked account is disabled with data wiped so that account needs to get setup again

swtor support just reconfirmed you will need to phone them on Monday when the lines open to fix the account issue

I am having the same issue. i tried using another brower and resetting my EA account password and neither of those solved my problem. Its quite frustrating.

You need to reset the password on the linked EA account that account has the persona fuffydud2 (not FuffyDudofDoom your posting with now) that EA account uses the same gmail email as on your swtor account
use the following link to reset the password https://signin.ea.com/p/web2/resetPassword (insert the swtor email in the link) then login on that EA account to fix the swtor account for purchasing
for future purchases, use incognito mode on chrome initially if you purchase on swtor.com to be sure browser cache and cookies is cleared

Looks like you are best to create a new swtor account.
The linked EA account for purchasing is the one that was compromised 5 years ago , given it was unsuccessful restoring that account means you can never purchase on that swtor account , unless that compromised ea account is recovered.

also im a returning player after 4 years and all my characters on said account have vanished, wanted to subscribe so that I could contact support since only subs can do that....
