What is it you look for in a mission?

When I play SWTOR, I like having an interesting reason why my character is doing what they are doing. It doesn't matter to me what the point of interest is whether it is some kind of external factor like an interesting antagonist or internal like some kind of inner struggle. However, I like it best when there are interesting characters that make you ask questions and want to find out more about them or what they are up to.

However, what I really hate are fetch quests. Sometimes you may get an interesting bit of story or some humor out of it but I really hate busywork. I particularly dislike having to go really far out of the way to fetch the whatever I've been asked for.

What is it you like to get out of missions? Exploration? NPC Interaction? Just a waste of time?

  • For me

    1. Exploring as much as I progress through story and mission, get to know the planet better. Alderran, you can't miss it, so far no star wars game can depict.

    2. NPC interaction, yes, some are very funny, don't just choose a dialog for nothing.

    3. Waste of time, true, some mission isn't cool at all, you have holoterminal or holocomm but why have to report to someone after mission?

I am not talking about general Graza, no. haha

    Culture background(geo, history...etc.) , flora, fauna, environment.

  • So you would be happy if you found lore items and beautiful environments? Do you like additional achievements or rewards for discovering these things?

Yes, and I also see some background usage NPCs you can pass through them, weird, right?

Lore objects can be tricky sometimes because their location.

If they added more rewards of these, it's always welcome.

  • I actually look for flow most of all.  Any time I have to wait for respawns, it pulls me out of my immersion.  Likewise, a low drop rate on plot coupons really takes me out.  I'd rather have to gather 80 things at a 100% drop rate than 8 things at a 10% drop rate.

I find that the more smoothly a quest is flowing, the more likely I am to appreciate being at a particular vantage point, or detour to try and take out a nasty-looking guy off to the side.
