Why can't I log on?

I've played SWTOR for years.  It's been a few months because of...well...life.

Today I go to login and I can't.  I tried restarting my computer and I still can't login.  Whenever I try, the program just shuts down.  I click on the icon, type in my username and passowrord, click 'play', and then nothing.  Nada.  Zip.  Zilch.

What is going on?  Is there some new bug?  I tried contacting support but received a message stating that they cannot answer calls and to come on here.  I don't know what to do.  My roommate has had the same problem with his account.  He can logon on his laptop but not his desktop (I'm using a desktop PC).  

Can anyone help me?
