Fathom has shared suffering with a defeated enemy in the final mission

I am playing on Expert Beskar difficulty and in the final part of the final mission Fathom used shared suffering on an enemy which I later defeated. The shared suffering is persisting so I can only deal 25% of the usual damage to the boss. This makes this fight impossible. Please help
