Game wont actually shut down

I don't know if this is just somehow a personal problem with my own pc or from the game itself, but this problem only started happening right after the first update/bug patch. 

i've noticed the game wont fully closed down when I quit it. ill play for a bit, save, quit, then come back after a few hours only to realize steam is still saying Zero Company is still playing. there is no window up, neither is task manager saying anything zero company related is currently active, but i have to completely close steam and boot it back up to stop the game. steams says i have 74 hours on the game and i don't know if all of that is from actual gameplay because twice now it has been "playing" for hours on computer without me realizing and its probably just counting the hours it runs idle for.

If its somehow a fault of my computer and not the games ill gladly take any help i cant get, but i thought to at least bring it up somewhere.
