2025, relic delta are a failure. Alternative proposal
2025 is overall, not a great year of winners.
Is CG Management attempting to sabotage the game?
CG executed an order 66 worthy of memery with the silly raid with new Bad (Gar)Batch (whom are not combine-able with the OG BB), and pirates. Cartoon characters: didn't give a F.
Up next: Lord Vader lifters. Well.. I don't have LV; he's for many among the last GL's farmed. Scorch: IF this would have been in a Republic Commando team, sure. but nope. Personally a miss. But probably CG's 'hit' of the year, with people relicing clones to help Lord Failure.
This era introduced era battles. And then had some jedi called Depa. Don't give a F.
And Temple Guard, ok cool. So : 1 in 11 characters I considered 'cool' to add.
We then come to 'Windowcleaner', with the silly sleeves. This could, and should, have been Cin Dralliq for the Temple Raid, with some more alien jedi. We get a stupid rework on Aayla, which only does anything if you get Windowcleaner. CG leaves another easy 'win' on the table by not updating/reworking Kitt Fisto (and Plo Kloon).
Then, we get the pirates, with stupid cartoon Hondo, now as a GL.
And he takes the Skeleton Crew, so you don't even have those as a really valid team.
10 years in, and this is what you cooked up as a GL? 10 years, and no separatist GL. Whomever at CG makes these decisions, does not deserve his/her job.
We get the mess off the halving of era battles without warning, despite the schedule post.
And we have SM33 before Mazz, reverse order of their respective intended teams. Maz as pirate lead? MEH. Ithano, kinda cool design. Quiggie? OOF. At least he's an alien. And a clone you can't use as a clone. And Ithano having such a garbage lead, (which I called right as they announced the kit), they had to boost his lead a bit, even as only interim lead.
We then move to the current era. Cool, finally a Profundity lifter. Lulz, reverses the Executor hard-countering Profundity with P1. Aaand another Leviathan buff, which has unforeseen consequences.
B-WING, FINALLY. a GANT Bounty Hunter, alright. Aaand... relic delta get announced, and CG expertly sinks my intention of spending anything further on this game.
(for reference: I bought: Raddus bundle, +1 resistance bundle, SLKR bundle (back when they were cheap), Shadows of the Empire bundle, Geos bundle, a Rogue One Bundle, and a Jabba LSB. No passes, ..)
Relic delta, is CG lying to the playerbase. It is an order-66 on the game's viability. At least I know with every hour CG staff spends on it, they're only accelerating their own unemployment too.

Looking at the last set of 3rounds, just my first opponent, my attacks:
I used a R3, 5 star tank in my first battle, vs relic 8, 7, 8, 5, 6 opponents.
I used Jabba, with a relic sum of 34, vs a team with relic sum of 41, a higher level datacron, and won.
IF this stupid relic delta made it in, my relic 5 would be blown away, and then it's 4 vs 5 with stronger relics on enemy team.
My R3 Wampa then man-handled a poorly set Starkiller team, with 4x R7, 1x R9.
I had a Phoenix loss vs Inquisitors: nevermind the DC, my inquisitor fights have been unsufferably lagging, preventing wins through sheer slowing down the fight. MAYBE fix this lagging?
My 4x R3 +1x R7 Night sisters, won vs 3x R7 + 1x R9 Imp Remnant.
So CG's lying data: bull**bleep**. In Kyber 1 you have full rosters. In Carbonite you have people not fighting (pointless vs the giant mismatch), or battles with no relics at all.
But what CG is saying, is that 'punching up' is not allowed. Well, that's the entire game. Look at Songeta's account, how many of his matches could he have won with relic delta activated?
Relic delta is also completely pointless: in K1, people have full rosters: R9 Ewoks are NOT going to hold. Let's consider a bit lower, K2 and maybe people have more R8's than R9's etc. At any remotely reasonable numbers (an order of magnitude below what CG thinks, 2.5-3% per relic level), but even with their 10%, a 'meta' team, will UNDERMAN the stupid Ewoks. Efficiency win.
So.. the only place were R9 Ewoks become 'worth it' in PvP, is to make the lower leagues and matchups even more mis-matched and toxic.
Also: relic delta devalues the 'defense' stat: if high relic already reduces incoming damage, by a non-additive %, defense matters less. (in addition to true damage etc). Then, if enemy gets double damage, a few % more defense won't help you either.
Resources like SWGOH.gg or guild info in TW become less valuable, as you have to account for yet another factor besides how to do the counter, mods, datacrons, now the relic level becomes far more important. It is a problem, looking for a solution. It does not encourage spending at all, it encourages to stop spending, and leaving.

An alternative proposal, seeing as CG can't come up with a decent mechanic to save their life (or the game:
1) Besides new mechanic, CG can and should still get a new (dark side) planet to RotE, lower the fleet zone tresholds for Geo TB, and fix the **bleep** lag, and the bug where Cere tossing her saber at an invulnerable character freezes the game and costs me the battle and possibly the match. And a TW rework, with rotation variation, a league system, perhaps a 4vs4 format,..
2. IF the idea is 'boost your favorite squad', FINE.
Suggestion:
New 'gear', like a datacron. This one is permanently available, and the effect is simple: +3-5% to all stats, increased by a further 3-5%, per relic level. Yes, this is a big impact: +3-5% to offense, mastery, crit damage, speed, tenacity, potency, evasion/dodge... honestly, 5% might be overkill. More relic levels = more boost.
BUT. Your account only gets a few. You want an uneven number, so you play a bit of roulette every GAC regarding how many you place on defense vs offense. So 3 or 5.
F2P should have the same number of these, as paying accounts.
Keeping these active, would cost a new type of energy; every battle the stat boost reduces by 0.5%.
(So in GAC, or TW, you can wear out a wall by tossing single-character battles at it. But this would be horrible for your banners). If you buy an episode or conquest pass, you regain this energy at twice the rate. This 'squad boost' could take the place of a datacron, or be a supplement. But it should be available for all types of content; conquest, TB, GC (yes, galactic challenges),...
However: if given free reign, everyone would just use these datacrons with their 'S' teams.
So, for pvp, I would propose a rotating system of restrictions, where you cannot use these with your GL's, nor with the 'S' teams, or maybe a max of 1 S-team (S-teams would have to be agreed upon)
Example: GAC season starts:
In PvP, You can put your 'boosts' with any team (without a GL OR Conquest unit?) including characters with these tags:
Rebels (no conquest unit would mean no Saw+Luthen. Revenge of the CLS team?) , First Order, Ewoks, Bounty Hunters, Pirates (why not), Jedi, Droids, Tuskens, ...
(I'd be very hesitant to add things like Sith: Traya. Or galactic republic: QA. Or even Empire: Reeva, and turn meter train pre-started).
But, I hope you get the general idea.
If you have 3 (or 5) of these, you have the pass so have energy to spare, you can ensure victory on a few TB battles (Zeffo, Mando?) and make them go considerably faster.
Obviously, this would take tweaking, and development time, which stupid CG wasted on relic delta.
So it's unlikely to happen.
But the mathematics behind this are simple at least, instead of coming up with completely new gear levels and customization.
