To my overall player experience? You are wrong. Others may agree with you, that doesn't make them wrong. For me, I want a practice mode. I enjoy this game. I enjoy trying things. I do not like trying things for the first time ever in a competitive environment. I would pay to have a practice mode.
Then practice in GAC and if you lose, buy crystals to compensate.
The idea of a practice mode is to not have to wait 48-72 hours to try the same team again. Hard to compensate for time.
This. Some counters take a lot of experience to work out all the kinks. By the time a counter is mastered using only GAC matches for practice, the meta may very well shift such that the counter is no longer practical.
To the point about using GAC as practice and paying for lost income. First of all, I wouldn't lose income because any failed matches today will result in easier wins down the road. Second, that goes against the spirit of what I want, which is to have GAC be a competition. In every avenue of life, the "event" is supposed to be the payoff for your preparation. Study for the test? Ace the thing! Train really hard for a run? Get a new PB! etc
And, to repeat myself, I do not expect everyone to share my outlook on GAC. If you want a casual, throw stuff around and see what happens experience; that's great! You have a game mode and system built for that right now. If CG added a practice mode for tryhards like me, we'd be happy and the casuals would be unaffected. I fail to see the downside here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
