A disheartening realization and the onset of grind burnout
I came to the realization there are characters I will never get to a usable level by paying the amount I am willing to pay. There are teams I wanted that I can never have, because this character or that character is much harder to farm than others. Some would take close to a year, even with buying their shards when they come up in the shipment shop.
RNG store is not an option - I know what it would really cost in the end, and frankly I would be a bad father if I spent my money that way, even if I could afford it. And I probably could. But like I said, there will always be more important uses for money.
So we have the farming. To use all the mission repeats per day on the characters I want to farm, not to mention their gear, I basically have to have my phone out and running battles on auto for what amounts in total to a good chunk of the day.
It's just exhausting after a while. Especially when you have played long enough to know what it's really going to take to power up the next character. I just... you run out of give-a-darns. And even if you take a break, you remember how the game made you feel before, and you don't really want to come back.
