A Guide to Farming for Territory Battles
A Farming Guide for Territory Battles
Throughout this guide I will provide a plethora of examples from my own roster, if you need more context look at my inventory or roster to see why I make the decisions I do.
As we now are in the world of territory battles and are continually growing in our understanding of how the new game mode works we need to adapt our farming methods to match the demands this new game mode brings. It has completely turned the world we know upside down because it now requires characters who before we wouldn’t have dared farm (Lobot, Hoth Rebel Soldier, Pao) and made them necessary for the guild’s success in territory battles. Naturally every person will be different in who they farm, depending on the guild you’re in, your total galactic power, the characters that make up your power, mods, etc. The hardest decision is where to start, in my opinion, the best place is first look at your roster. I look at mine multiple times a day, one its just fun, but really it gives me an overall view of what I need to work on.
We all have certain “projects” we are working on, whether for raids, territory battles, or arena or a combination of those. Of course this game is one where, unless you really devote everything to one character, you are never truly finished working on a character. When I begin thinking about how far in gear to take a character or which characters are my priority, I ask myself, what is the character’s use? For example I farmed Jyn to help solo the rancor. I have her sitting at gear 8 still and could’ve easily taken her higher. But I am reaping the benefits for what I intended her for, this doesn’t mean I won’t gear her again. She just has taken a back burner until the rest of my Rogue One team catches up to her. By catching up I am talking about stars, gear, level, mods, etc.
I decided to work on Rogue One because Baze and Chirrut are always going to be good in arena and they are necessary in territory battles. This is a win-win for me because they help me individually and help my guild as well. When you are deciding what to farm ask your guild officers what factions and/or characters are needed. Sometimes it’s about sacrificing, I am currently farming Coruscant Underworld Police from arena store, no need to level or gear him but he is needed for Platoons. Other times it will benefit you, for example farming a clone team because they’re good in territory battles and in raids. Because some battles require certain factions or characters, farming them should be priority number one. This is why farming Hoth Rebel Scout and Hoth Rebel Soldier was so important, because without them you cannot participate in certain battles on the map.
Now once you consulted with your officers or have a good understanding of what can benefit the guild and or yourself, create a general plan of attack. This means looking at where you can farm the characters, their respective gear, and where the mods they will need are going to come from. I’ll use Resistance as an example, I will leave out R2D2 and BB8 for this because they are legendary characters that requires a team of 5, 7 star Empire and First Order characters. First is starring each character, Resistance Pilot is the easiest in galactic war store, next you have Finn on a cantina node, which in turn will give you cantina store currency so you can buy Poe’s shards. Both Finn and Poe have hard nodes as well but these are a last resort. Now Rey and Resistance Trooper are both on hard nodes and in the guild store. My advice is only use guild store to unlock them. This is because our guild generates enough store currency that you will never miss out on buying them. This will be a longer farm but it will save your normal energy for gear.
After figuring out how to star your character and/or faction the next step is gearing them. Above I mentioned that 4/5 resistance members have hard nodes, but I said not to use them as primary farming sources. This is because gear is just as, if not more important, than stars. By saving your normal energy you can begin to gear your faction as you unlock them and increase their star count. By doing this over time you can begin to test the new faction out and figure out how best to utilize their strengths and what their weaknesses are. Gearing is a game of patience and lots of luck. When you have a piece that multiple characters need look at their gear requirements beyond that level. If someone is an easy gear 10 to gear 11 then maybe they’re the better option instead of the character that has a very hard gear 10 to gear 11.
This cycle can be rinsed, washed, and repeated for any character or faction. It doesn’t matter whether you’re farming Shoretrooper’s hard node, farming Chirrut from fleet, or buying K2S0’s shards from galactic war store. This method will work for all of them. Sometimes there is a need to rush farm a character. For example, when Commander Skywalker comes around and you’re short on Farmboy Luke. The downright best option is farming him from every source possible. This will absolutely slow your progress in all areas down but in the long run it may be worth it because of how good Commander Skywalker is. But again, this is a last resort option.
Now farming ships is a beast in itself, especially now that the Millennium Falcon, Cassian’s U-Wing, Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle, and Tie Reaper are somewhat farmable. My best advice for these ships is focus only on one, they are long farms and require the use of normal energy which can be used for gear. While these ships are pretty much necessary for Platoons, they are also ships that will require a lot of time and, in some cases crystals, that only end-game players can afford to focus on them. For the rest of the ships it’s all about resource management and slowly building reinforcements for fleet arena and ships to be used in platoons. Making use of the Galactic War store for ships when you can is probably the best use of the currency as this can save Fleet Currency to be used for zetas or rarer characters.
Of course applying this to our guild can be a little tricky as we are at about 81 million galactic power. Comparing ourselves to other guilds with similar galactic power we get more stars than they do so we are ahead of the game. However this doesn’t mean we can start slacking. What is does mean is we can start to experiment with strategies in the current light side territory battles and begin to plan for the future dark side territory battles. This doesn’t mean we forget about light side territory battles but it means we begin making some small steps of progress towards a stronger dark side team as well.
For example, I have been farming Nihilus from hard nodes since he got one. I am at 93/100 without ever refreshing his node and only buying 12 shards of his from shipments. This has taken a very long time and made me want to quit many a times but I stuck it out. After him I am going to begin working on First Order Stormtrooper. Just focusing on one character like this is a great way to increase your galactic power and prepare yourself for the coming dark side territory battles. This could also mean farming First Order Tie Fighter Pilot from fleet arena because he is a rare appearance. Again this means slower progress towards other items but if you can afford to focus on the dark side a little bit than that will go a long ways towards the future.
Before taking any more steps than a hard node once a day or a couple shards from fleet arena please consult with an officer, we may need those efforts elsewhere or we may give you the go ahead. While we do not want you to suffer individually we all must realize that sometimes the good of the guild must come first.
Appendix A: Farming Orders
This appendix is a list of characters I plan on farming on where they are located and how far along they are in the progress of 7 stars. I find tracking like this helpful because once you hit 5 stars you only have two to go, but it’s deceiving because you aren’t halfway done farming a character until you’re at 20/85 on your way to 6 stars.

Summary
The above appendix illustrates a couple of things, and that is priorities and tough decisions. There are a lot of areas where I could be getting other things with the currency but have held off because there are other characters or gear I would rather have instead.
My decisions for cantina nodes is that Captain Han Solo is needed to be 7* for a special mission and since he is extremely useful in territory battles he’s top of the list. Next I have Hera because she’s needed for 7* Thrawn. Last is Deathtrooper, this one is a preparation for territory battles to come and because he is someone I have wanted to 7* for a while.
For the cantina store I chose Cassian’s U-Wing because it’s a rare ship and if I can get that for Platoons it will benefit the guild more than me having a 4* Pao. I chose Old Daka next in preparation for dark side territory battles but then went back to the light side characters in case they are still needed.
In the Galactic War store I have every light side character 7 stars so it’s pretty much up to me on what I need to farm out of there. I chose ships because this will give me more fleet currency to buy character shards and rarer ships.
The arena store is going to be my primary source of dark side preparation because the light side toons I haven’t 7 starred yet are very commons ones in our guild, so I thought preparing for the future would be a better option.
Fleet arena probably looks the strangest as I don’t have zetas on the list. That’s because where I am at now, zetas aren’t worth the characters I can get. Also with Ezra in there is so I don’t have to hold up my cantina farming.
Guild store I have all light side characters 7 starred so just farming the dark side guys. For this order does not matter as much because dark side territory battles aren’t active yet. If they were I would focus on one character at a time.
Guild event I am using for Baze because he takes forever and Hera to again save time cantina farming. Hermit Yoda will be purchased once Baze is 7 starred. That way I can feel more comfortable spending that much currency.
Shard shop is mainly a surplus for gear right now. Eventually when I have more of the characters in the game 7 starred I will begin to farm General Grievous. Now when I am talking about gear I will always buy stun guns, stun cuffs, carbantis, and mk3 holo projectors. Other items I will buy when needed. Otherwise I save the currency.
Light side and dark side nodes are characters that are long term farms and not attainable anywhere else (granted Baze does show up in guild event store but not often enough). These farms are best suited as a once a day 5 tries at the node. Primarily your normal energy should be used towards gear. Because a lot of the characters in this game are useless without gear.
Appendix B:
At the time I wrote this guide my galactic power was 1,543,929. I was placing normally in the top 5 for ships and top 50 for arena. I had only spent $20 in the entire time I’ve played the game to unlock Luke. Lastly I was only in an HAAT guild for about 8 months, all time before that was spent in a very casual guild.
