A small bit of ship help

I've decided to try to figure out ships so instead of just hitting auto, I play through them. Any help would be appreciated.

I have eight 5* ships. JC Starfighter, Slave 1, FO Tie, Biggs, Ahsoka, Wedge, ARC-170, Geo Soldier. I also have a 4* Imperial Tie. Which 5 should I have to start, and which 3 as reinforcements? And what order should the reinforcements come out in?

Best commander for that crew? They are all 5*s and all around level 70. I'm using Ackbar because I like seafood.

When fighting other ships, are there some priority targets I should always engage first?

And any other hints or places I could look to get better at ship battling?

  • Starting five: Wedge, Biggs, FO Tie, JC, Ahsoka. Then as reinforcements Slave 1, ARC-170, and then either Geo or Imperial Tie. And honestly I attack a different ship depending who is out there. But normally start with Wedge or Biggs. Biggs normally first because he is gonna get taunt up.
  • After the ship "fix" run AA command, toss in Biggs and scimitar, put retribution on Biggs hit auto and win. I actually found ships to be more fun before the "fix" as now it's all about hitting target lock as many times as you can so your Biggs keeps gaining protection from it.

    I'll work on Scimitar next, if only because now that I'm getting zeta's I'll be focusing on Maul anyway. :)

    I am exaggerating a little but the AA, Biggs scimitar is a deadly combo and a lot of fun to use.
  • It's probably just RNG, but is anyone else having the issue with the Slave I rarely landing target lock? It's got a 55% chance, and, while I haven't bothered to track it, it seems like it rarely hits.

    I might have to track this to see if it an issue or just lousy RNG.

    I find a LOT of ships seem to have issues landing debuffs. But yes, I can't really rely on Slave1 to target lock anyone. FWIW, my boba is G9, so certainly not top rated there.


    Have to agree with you on that, my Boba is completely maxed on gear, he only needs one unavailable piece left to hit G12.

    He's not dependable for TL, but he's great for AOE with his seismic charge when protection is down on multiple targets, and especially for his proton torpedo when multiple targets have TL.

    But overall power, I don't think, has anything to do with TL odds, since his blasters max out at only 55% chance for TL regardless of how many times he attacks.
