Boba Fett isn't Mandalorian, nor is Jango, they just use Mando armour.

Jango is from Concord Dawn and Boba is a clone from Kamino.

Jango, though not Madalorian by blood was raised by them. Boba, as it stands now, is only a Clone of Jango and as far as Canon, has had no real interaction with Madolorians.

Which is why I said that I do not accept the mess Lucas made of the Mandalorians, who previously were not a race as such, but rather a group of people brought together by shared ideals. Race, gender and so on were not important. In the former EU (now Legends), Boba Fett was a Mandalorian.

Your irony is totally unnecessary here. Yes,he has the right to do whatever he feels like with the universe he created. Kudos to him for doing so in the first place. However, ever since the EU came to life, he's been making a mockery of the whole thing.

Remember a card game called Star Wars CCG released by Decipher in the mid-nineties? It was supposed to be a part of the official canon (not EU). There was a lot of interesting info in the "lore" section of the cards. Like the Owen Lars card saying he's the brother of Obi-wan Kenobi. Then one day Lucas decides that he'd changed his mind and alters the story. Mind you, we're talking about information that was previously approved by Lucas himself!

The same thing happened with the Mandalorians. First their "history" was approved when Karen Traviss was writing R/IC, the Lucas decides to turn them into pacifists. And clearly it was a case of "because I can", since there was no good reason to do anything of the sort. Sorry, mate, defend him all you want, but Lucas' "genius" is, sadly, non-existent. The original trilogy was so great because his ex-wife introduced a whole lot of changes to the plot, the "renaissance" of Star Wars was brought about by authors such as TimothyZahn, Michael A. Stackpole or Kevin J. Anderson, then Lucas decided to make a come-back with the prequels and showed us how bad the OT would have been if things were done the way he'd originally designed them. When left to himself, Lucas makes things go from bad to worse and the story of the Mandalorians is just another example of this.

Compare the junk he gave us in TCW with the incredible culture Traviss created and then we'll talk.

You're a fan of Mandalorians and the Legends storyline. We get it. But if it weren't for Lucas none of this would exist. We wouldn't even be having this conversation.

So, irony and misplaced rage aside, this is the universe we have. I was p***ed when the EU was made Legends, just because I always believed Boba Fett made it out of the Sarlacc, and then he lived a long life as an aging gunslinger. But I enjoy the new material as well, and if nerfing the back story of Mandalore was part of the price for that, I can live with it.

If you cannot, that's cool, just don't be surprised when not everyone agrees with you.

No, no, you misunderstand. I have no problems with the fact that people enjoy the ideas Lucas introduced since the release of the PT, be it in the new movies, TCW or wherever. That's fine by me, whatever rocks your boat :) But I would also appreciate it if people did not react with hostility whenever they hear that I don't like the direction Lucas took SW. I simply believe that what he did was wrong and ruined huge parts of the SW universe for many fans out there. And, as I said before, a lot of his ideas that contradicted the EU seem to be done only out of spite and for no other reason. Otherwise what would be the reason for doing what he did to the Mandalorians? If he needed a race of pacifists that were harassed by the Death Watch, he could've used any other race or just created a brand new one. Messing with the Mandalorians served no purpose other than ruining yet another part of EU. And Lucas never denied not particularly liking the Expanded Universe.

Definitely agree on this one. Especially on the Bardan Jusik point.
