DEI is a steaming pile of bantha poodoo, and the people shoving it down our throats are hypocritical morons who’d choke on their own lightsabers if logic ever struck them. Let’s cut through the noise: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion sounds noble until you see it’s just a corporate checklist ruining everything it touches—Star Wars included. It’s not about making things better; it’s about control, optics, and pandering to a woke echo chamber that’s blind to the real world.
Take this franchise. Ahsoka’s orange, Thrawn’s blue, Yoda’s green—none of that’s ‘diversity’ in any meaningful sense. It’s paint, not identity. Star Wars isn’t Earth. There are no humans, no religions, no nationalities—just species and stories. Forcing DEI into this galaxy doesn’t deepen it; it cheapens it. The sequels didn’t tank because Finn wasn’t a Jedi or Reva wasn’t ‘diverse’ enough—they tanked because the writing was a dumpster fire, the direction was aimless, and management cared more about agendas than storytelling. Slapping a ‘diverse’ label on a badly written character like Rose doesn’t fix her; it just makes the failure louder.
And the hypocrites pushing this? They’re the same ones preaching ‘inclusion’ while canceling anyone who disagrees. They’ll cheer a ‘diverse’ crew but ignore how Hollywood’s still a clique of elitists—same as the 70s, just with better PR. DEI’s their virtue signal, not a solution. It’s why we get ‘diverse’ characters shoehorned in—looking at you, random white Karens in boardrooms—while good ideas like a stormtrooper-to-Jedi arc get butchered into Lando 2.0. It’s not the actors’ fault; it’s the suits chasing trends instead of crafting something real.
To the folks swallowing ABC, CNN, The Washington Post, (the list goes on) or whatever propaganda is trending on social media—wake up. Step off the holonet, look around your REAL world. Stop parroting talking points from talking heads who don’t give a **bleep** about you or this franchise. Think for yourselves. DEI isn’t saving anything—it’s a thermal detonator blowing up what made Star Wars great: stories, not checklists. Ditch the nonsense and demand better, not ‘diverse.’

Focus on the relevance of the character in the overarching story to receive the status of GL instead of identity politics? thanks.
note: This is not in terms of wanting or not wanting "wokeness" or whatever phrase people want to use, this is fundamentally about giving such a status to characters extremely important to the Star Wars Saga to receive it. If we wanna complain about diversity, 7 out of the 9 GLs so far are humans and very human-centric to believe that is diverse. If we have an issue about diversity, at least be consistent in your criticism.

How about we look at this logically and from the standpoint of the nine major movies, here are the GL's in the game:
- Rey - hero of the sequel trilogy, was in three movies, granddaughter of Palpatine
- SLKR - villain of the sequel trilogy, was in three movies, son of Han and Leia
- JML - the entire series is based on his family, was in six movies, son of chosen one
- SEE - main villain of the prequels, was in six movies, the final Sith master in the Bane line
- LV - main villian of the whole series, was in six movies between Vader/Anakin, chosen one of prophecy
- JMK - master of both Luke and Anakin, was in six movies, one of the top Jedi
- Jabba - unique alien, was in two movies, probably the weakest in terms of iconic character until Ahsoka
- Leia Organa - one of the leaders of the rebellion, in six movies, sister of Luke
- Ahsoka - Anakin's apprentice, in no movies, creation of the Clone Wars cartoon
Notice how 7 of 9 are MAJOR characters in the saga? That is why they are galactic legends. It isn't based on race or gender, but to the character's importance to the saga.

Considering that's what ruined Disney movies please no.

indigenous of where? It is a big old space romp. People bringing race into Star Wars need to give their heads a wobble, if 2025 Star Wars got any more diverse the whole case would just be multi coloured flags with circles for heads. OP is a loon.

Of all the complaints one could make about SWGOH, this one is the most ridiculous and meritless.

Dude, are you living in the world today? There are enough racists to elect them into majority in at least one major consumer country. If you don't want non-whites to exist in the world other than as servants, you probably don't want to see them as heroes in your favorite franchises. That's not a far stretch.
If I say "white Karens", do you think I only think there are white Karens? They come in all colors and genders. Adding crazy on the other hand may have been redundant and perhaps confusing. You seem upset about the word - Apologies if your name is Karen, but I think we are intelligent enough for homographs, but let's say I just wrote "crazy, entitled, white women" instead.
I am against DEI for wokeness, i.e. Kennedy, Headland and the likes. They, and their ineptitude, are likely to be the source for the downfall of the franchise. They stand for bad DEI - Inclusion for the sake of inclusion where it brings down quality of the product. The force is neither female nor black (it sure can be though).
I am for DEI when it combats generational wealth and the consequences of colonialism and sexism. I.e., giving more talented women and/or non-whites a chance to work with the supposedly talented white men, when possible. That is good DEI.
Personally, I think the whole sequel trilogy should just disappear. Surprised?

The next one will be blue if that’s any consolation.

Diversity was an issue with the films too. Ashoka, like Jabba, is not human.
