Alternate costumes

Useless idea

I really like this idea. It'd be a neat aesthetic item to work towards while you grind teams and gear and such.

It would be a neat idea if CG has idle time perhaps.

I don't see the hate on this, I'm sure the guys does not mean drop everything and work on this...

It's a great idea, and EA would make so much money. Personally, I would spend real $$$ for Clone helmets. A slave Leia skin would fund this game for the next decade. You could introduce all the different versions of characters, like Hoth Han, adult Ahsoka, etc.

Saraleb, do we really need more heroes at this point? Would be more interested in the idea of updating starter characters to be on par with current characters due to the inevitable power creep.

I think clone helmets will come. At least in a fight, as for Gar Saxon. We could still see the clones without helmets in the configuration panel, and with it in any fight. Except for SCP1 who is a generic one.

I'm going to go with the assumption that the art department and the developers/programmers/etc are different teams so I don't believe that it'd be a 'waste of resources' as suggested above. They'd have to design an interface to allow switching skins so I suppose that would occupy their time a little, so I'm sure someone will leap on that as justification.

I like the idea, although I imagine only the named characters (Leia etc) would have decent alternative skins (various Lukes, Hoth Leia, etc). I guess variants of Stormtrooper could just be other ranks, with shoulderpads - but since we've got a Clone Sergeant already that could have an effect on the landscape. There might be rules within clone armies about what generic troopers carry what guns; I'm not an expert.

On the one hand it would give a little bit of visual variety to some otherwise extremely generic characters. On the other, as said above we're starting to get alternate versions of characters (two different Kenobis, two Hans, and if we're being super pedantic, two Anakins :P) which would stop them making actual characters of them. Whether or not this is a good thing is obviously subjective!

I'd be interested in EA/CG's views on the matter.

No, there is no point. They release toons from different snapshots in time with all new kits, that's great

Mayb they can have purses and earrings. Mayb a little closet to keep their outfits in.

I saw an amazing picture of Darth Maul sporting a hood and not wearing a shirt to reveal his red and black skin. I thought of how awesome it would be to have that ingame and figured alternate costumes would be the way to go about it.
