Anyone else worried about the potential Revan/Nihilus?

I'll start with this... I'm a HUGE Revan fan. My phone case is Revan, I'm writing a Star Wars book in the Revan era, have played Kotor 1/2 several hundreds of times through... I absolutely love the idea of Revan as a strategist and "balancer" of the force.

My concern lies exactly in that though. I have him to such high standards I feel like the game won't deliver a good character (how cad bane, an absolute beast in the series, straight sucks here. Same with Plo koon, Original JKA, original boba, kylo, etc)

I just don't want Revan or Nihilius to come to light and suck. It'd be so disrespectful imo!

If he's a straight boss as he should be, I'd be soooo stoked and would definitely drop money to get him lol
  • Don't play TOR so what did they mess up on with Revan?

Also I don't know why you guys are worried if he's Jedi, Sith or tagged as both. You can mix characters in your forms. There are plenty of forms that are or were top toons and it wasn't 5 Rebels or 5 clones or 5 Jedi. The Main one for awhile being Rey (Light, Resistance) QGJ (Light, Jedi) Phasma (Dark, First Order) RG (Dark, Empire) & Geonosian Soldier (Dark, Geonosian).

They can make Revan only dark sith or only light Jedi Or they can make him dark with sith & Jedi tags or light with Jedi & sith tags.
  • A dev talked about having him have a % chance of switching during the battle. Laid out some of his moves. Introduced Bastilla as well. I'll find the link for you

Well it's beyond your control. Look how messed up Kylo is, or to some extent Vader, they should be held in very high regards, yet they are awful.

Also, I couldn't help but notice, "have played Kotor 1/2 several hundreds of times through" is that true? If so, it might be time for an intervention lol.

    Vader is a brilliant toon.

Kylo has been made as terrible as he was in the film.... Still say the boy wonder should of been cast in twilight rather than Star Wars.

Ah so you're one of those people that have never read a book and don't understand character development. It's cool, I get it.

As this is a Star Wars game and George Lucas "invented" Star Wars, I (and many others) still consider the movies (especially Episodes IV, V and VI) as "primary sources" - everything else is secondary canon. But if it makes you feel better to be rude and condescending over the interwebs to people who simply disagree with you, enjoy.

Well it is simply incorrect to address Kylo Ren as just being a whiny teen. For one, he's in his mid to late 20's, he also has a constant struggle with the light and dark side, that's why he's so angry. But someone will reply with an arbitrary statement as to how he's just crying.

Read books, comics, played games, watched the films and series, so quite clearly... You don't get it.

It's great you got caught up on the hype train of episode 7 quite a few people did but at the end of the day I personally didn't need to see ep 4 over again "it's not another Death Star it's a planet" only goes so far for me.

He may be in his late 20s but he still looks and acts like he belongs in a teen girls rom com. When you watched ep 4 the first time and (unsure of age so dunno if you saw in cinema or later on tv or whatever) didn't you just look at the screen and think WOW now THATS an awesome villain.

Vader (even though he's appeared in many things) didn't need a book to explain why he's an emo.

P.s Those "Jedward" boys are in their mid 20s doesn't mean they don't act like whiny B******

    Comparing Vader to Kylo?

They are showing him grow as a villian, just like they showed Vader go from hopeless cheese romancer, hating sand, whining about the council, getting arrested by b1 battle droids AND again by geonosians, whining about padme, snitching on palpatine, crying because mace was going to kill palpatine in result of snitching on him, choking out his baby ma, etc etc.

Give Kylo Ren some time to grow into this Vader-esque villian you want.

All three of the Skywalker boys, yes Kylo is also a Skywalker boy, started out as whiners and throwing a tantrum in the movies. Luke's was more sutile. I do think his character will develop further and have kept my overall judgment for ep7 in check till the others are done.
  • Yes but if you love revan that much you will know there is two very different revans they can put in the game. Darth revan and Jedi master revan. It would be nice to see him have the Jedi and Sith tag though. It would be funny to have a ds/ls character though I doubt that would happen. Revan overall seems more of a mildly dark character.

Not quite the first film episode 4 was released in December 1977

The prequels no one like came from 1999

By that time Vader was already a top 10 villain of all time, they didn't need the prequels to "grow" him as a character they tried it and it failed (look how many people hate the preqs)

You don't understand at all do you? If Vader was always just this scary menacing villian it would make him one-dimensional. That's why they made the prequels to show his transformation derppppp.
