Then that makes you an irritant rather than a help, a spoiler rather than a contributor, etc.

Sure you can say whatever you want, but what you say still makes you a dick.

And whether April Fool's day is a holiday isn't a matter of opinion, only your desire to observe it or not is. It remains a holiday whether or not you choose to, so there's no reason to mess up the holiday for others.
