I had a guy on my server rolling with Asajj on his squad and he was able to beat anyone out there on offense. Of course I think he would be the first to admit that his squad fell like a rock on defense.
Admittedly I have never used mine because she is not leveled up but she seems like she could be very useful on offense if you sped her up to a reasonable amount. I'm not sure if she is a focus of the AI or not but I feel like her group dispel could help a lot to get rid of tenacity up, offense up, taunts, etc. I mean it seems you would have to change the way you play your squad but if you get to the second round in tact she could really turn the tides?
Her abilities being good are not the issue. Most would agree she has neat abilities. But there is no good reason for her being 50 points of speed slower than toons with kits just as good. She has a few tricks up he sleeves, but 98 speed is inexcusably slow for a squishy, low potency toon that just does OK damage.
Her abilities are fine, but her stats are horribly weak across the board, and AI does her a diservice too.
This. But this thread is focusing too much on her lack of speed. She should go later in the first round. It makes either of her specials (AoE with a bonus on a finishing blow or her dispel) more powerful. However, her problem is that she is both slow AND squishy. If she was tankier - and had a way to get faster as the battle went on (i.e. increased speed chance on a defeat needs to be MUCH higher than 25%), she would be more viable. Right now, she is slow and squishy - and really has no decently reliable way to overcome either handicap.
And while I'm thinking about it, the AI exists to keep her from using her abilities wrong. Savage saves his special for when a toon is close to death because of the buff he gets on attacking low health toons. Her AI could use the same criteria for deciding when to use her AoE since it's best used when a toon is nearly dead. And it could use the same criteria that QGJ uses for his dispel for hers. Then it would use her basic until a toon is nearly dead, or has a buff.
That is an exact description of how the ai currently uses asaaj. Except she'll dispell when low on health and waste a turn because even full health she'll be one hit killed by lumi.
The ai needs a total revamp on dispellers in general - no more dispelling dodge up or foresight. Her aoe ai might be ok if the attack had amazing damage but it doesn't and will only try it when a toon is basically already dead. If it did like 10k per hit, it would be so much more applicable in real battles instead of only during the low level pve missions.
Her basic is poor. It does poor damage, even with rampage buffs, and the combination of low proc and potency means rarely stuns. Everything about her needs buffing. Every single stat. Every single proc %. Every single everything.
Such an interestingly designed toon with such disappointing execution.
I use her in arena right now, albeit I'm on a younger server.
In GW she is a beast with the right team.
I use her with this team in GW:
Phasma lead
Qui Gon
Geo Soldier
Leia
Asajj
With that set up she almost always has offense and crit chance up. She crits for 7-12k (depending on armor) on basic and her AOE can crit for 6k and remove turn meter. Not to mention with my Asajj at just 12% potency her stun sticks more than you would think. Her AOE with Advantage? Fu'getabout it!
I have a crit damage triangle mod on her but I haven't omega'd her attacks yet and her mods in general are so so.
I honestly don't know how much longer I will use her in arena (tough to get better than top 20 right now) but she certainly has her uses.
That being said, I would be all for a buff! It would be nice to get a buff on a character I already use and have nearly maxed.
Her speed could use a small buff but I definitely don't want her going first because of how she is designed to be used. However, on auto the AI regularly uses AOE dispel AND attack at the worst times.
As far as squishy, what do you consider good?
With mods and gear 10 I have her at 32k health and protection (14k health, 18k protection). Considering her health steal and the fact that she can completely restore her health with a well timed dispel, that seems reasonable.
She normally lasts longer than Qui Gon who has slightly more health and protection.
And the damage you describe is stunningly mediocre. Which is also fine since she has some neat abilities. It's the 98 speed on top of having glass cannon health and average damage that makes her a bottom of the barrel toon. That and the rotten potency. And the AI.
She should be an arena staple. She could be a dark side QGJ. But she needs 40-50 points of speed, and AI that's actually I. Beyond that just a few tweaks.
